My partner left an accurate review of our stay at Zoom hotel. I am the disabled person. I am responding to the owners' completely dishonest response. I am an above-knee amputee and wear a prosthetic to be mobile. I do need to remove it to sleep and shower. When not wearing it, I use crutches. Throughout our trip, a shower chair was requested. When not available, hotels simply said they did not have one available. “No” is a perfectly acceptable response; much more acceptable than changing everything expected. The owners’ response to the original review is not at all truthful. The "receptionist" mentioned is the person we were told was the manager with whom it took 2 days to meet in person. The hotel staff was amazing and as communicative as they could be. We have no complaints about them. We made our first complaint about the room 10 minutes after dropping our luggage in it as it was a different room that we reserved. It was directly off of the cafe/bar/terrace area. The widow that provided ventilation to the room opened directly to a smoking table. Yes, we put our luggage on the bed. But we were told this was all that was available. We were given a complimentary drink and told the room would be changed the next day. 45 minutes in we could not stomach the smell. We were given an air freshener and told to run the water because that room is not used often. Again, we were told there was nothing that could be moved as the hotel was booked and what we paid for was already occupied. After a long travel day, trying to find a last-minute hotel left us with very few options. We did not ask for a downgrade. I only asked for a shower chair. When we did not get what was paid for, yes we sought recompense. Not a refund; we simply did not want to pay for something less. Also at time of booking, there was no mention of the hotel only having 5 rooms with air conditioning. Had that information been disclosed by the hotel, we would have chosen a different place. In addition, the room is not handicap accessible as there are no supports of any kind and the bathroom is all tile. There is no separation between the shower and the rest of the space, not to mention any proper ventilation. The “shower chair” mentioned in the owners' response was a stool borrowed from the cafe just outside the room. There was an abundance of them. They were also used as side tables in the rooms. Nobody went out of their way to find one as implied by the owners’ comments. And as a side note, the stools actually fit just fine in the bathtub of the room we were eventually moved to. So, had the hotel not made assumptions about my disability and taken it upon themselves to change our reservation without consent, this all could have been avoided. Lastly, I want to clarify that I did not call the manager “stupid”. I said she was ridiculous when she called my disability my problem, blamed the room downgrade on my request for an accommodation and expected me to show gratitude for her
