Hotel Akerlund

I love Jokkmokk. This town is one of my favorite places and hotel Akerlund is a wonderful historical building. Simple, quiet and safe.

Firstly, this hotel is confusing to find because the name is not on the outside of the hotel! Very odd. Once inside however, the hotel looks exactly as it appears on the internet. Our room had twin beds, unusually, not next to each other as generally found but one in an alcove and the other in the corner diagonally opposite. They were set up with the headboards so you can’t see each other, again, a little odd, but we did have two windows and two radiators in the room, so that may have made bed placement difficult. The room however had good beds and bedding, enough storage and blackout curtains. There was no table or desk but you can request one from reception which we did and it was supplied immediately. Fixture placement in the bathroom was also a bit cramped with a huge basin impeding access to the loo but the fittings were good quality with plenty of hot water and good toiletries and towels. Breakfast was in the restaurant downstairs and was pretty good. Standard hot food buffet options, a selection of cold local produce and a nicely presented, spacious eating area. We stayed two nights and it was very comfortable. Free parking right outside. Recommended.

The hotel itself looks outdated from the outside. Inside it looks more charming, especially the reception and breakfast area. The room was clean but had not much comfort. Breakfast was sober. First hotel during our trip through Sweden and Norway with no plantbased milk/ gurt. But I have to mention I did not ask for it as well. I always have some with me myself.

A simple and pleasant hotel with everything needed for a short stay. Good breakfast for a hotel of its size. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is located right in the middle of the town, close to everything and no problems with parking.

The staff of the hotel was courteous and the property itself was fine. But they gave me a room like a broom closet. Small and dark. And next to the actual broom closet, right on the main corridor to other rooms, so noisy as well. I asked to change rooms immediately upon seeing mine but they refused. Total rip off. I will never return as other options in Jokkmokk are much better and some are also cheaper.

Old fashioned small hotel in a very good condition. Jokkmokk is a charming small place and the hotel is within walking distance from the sights and the few restaurants the town has. The single room was on the small side but it was quiet and I could sleep well. Good Internet connection. Very nice breakfast.

The hotel had been renewed and it really looks great. Our room was small but very clean and cozy. Personal is super nice and helpful. We are vegetarians and they had food prepared for us (thanks for that!). The chimney area is also really cozy and you can book the sauna for yourself without any cost. The hotel is located centrally and you can walk to other restaurants in town. If I go back to Jokkmokk again, I will stay there again.

The hotel was well situated in town. We were extremely pleased with the helpfulness of the staff. When we checked in, we were welcomed to a complimentary light dinner at the restaurant. The room was small, but had everything we needed. I wish there was additional sound proofing in the rooms, as we could easily hear every conversation in the neighboring room. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable. They also offered a breakfast, which was small but tasty.
