Hotel Holy Himalaya

The Hotel Holy Himalaya did its job - gave us a warm comfortable place to stay at the beginning and end of our journey in Nepal. The rooms were clean and the staff was wonderful. The staff picked us from the airport and arranged transportation back. Breakfast was fine and we didn't have any other meals during our stay. The rooms were quite large.

It's always pleasant staying at the Holy Himalaya. We stayed 4 nights this trip - before and after Pikey Peak trek with Himalaya Spirit Adventure. We also did the same last year after Mardi Himal trek. The staff at the front office are helpful, the breakfast substantial, room decent with hot showers and the real bonus is the complimentary hot drinks.

Nice hotel in a good location. You can get coffee or tea at almost any time in the lobby. They also have a bar in the lobby. They stored my luggage which was a convenience. They charge extra if you pay by credit card. Very nice staff and clean rooms. Highly recommend this place. It is convenient to shopping and restaurants but the street is not well lit at night.

The third time I stay in Hotel Holy Hilmalaya. Friendly staff, clean & tidy environment, nice reasurants nearby, close to shopping area.

Charming hotel with very comfortable rooms in a perfect location for walking numerous shops and restaurants everywhere. Excellent restaurants nearby. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Breakfast is included. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kathmandu!

I've had the best, warmest treatment at the hotel.the staff was super nice, like family and the hotel is charming with lovely wood and marble that reminds of antique Kathmandu. It's great for location and tranquility in the Heart of busy thamel. It's near Raj yoga meditation centre, yoga centre and seein hand, a great massage centre. Hopefully will be back.

The rooms were comfortable, the location excellent, the breakfast good (the baristas knew our order even when we went away and came back a week later)...The guys at the front desk (Rijan and Pradip) knew English perfectly and helped us with every request...We would stay there again and recommend this hotel highly...

This hotel was absolutely wonderful and I cannot recommend it enough. Traveled to Nepal in April with my husband and 2 kids (7 & 9) and we absolutely fell in love with this hotel. For starters, we arrived hot and exhausted after a 35h journey and the hotel right away sat us down and gave us lovely and cool welcome drinks! Such a nice welcome. Our room wasn't ready (because it was the morning!), and they very nicely gave us another room to get changed and organised and store our luggage because we had young kids and it was SO appreciated after such a long travel. This was one of the few hotels where we could fit the whole family in one room because the room had a double bed and a single and they said they would roll in a cot. I was concerned that would make the space feel really small but our room (122) was HUGE! The cot was a full-on single bed and even with the extra bed and all the luggage we still had TONS of room. Complementary (and completely delicious) tea and coffee in the lobby, we took to going back to the hotel for a few hours after a day of sightseeing to decompress a bit before heading out for supper. The hotel is right in Thamel but on a quiet side street so it's lovely and peaceful while being in the middle of the action. And the people are SO nice. When the lovely woman at breakfast realized my kids liked hot chocolates (shocking, I know), she started making them hot chocolates in the morning with elaborate chocolate designs in the foam, I swear that might have been their favorite part of the trip! ;-) The breakfast was delicious, the water pressure great, easy transfer to and from the airport, truly a wonderful experience all in all.

We stayed here for a few nights before and after our trek. The hotel was chosen by the tour company but we didn't have any complaints. Easy and quick check in, lovely spacious room and a comfortable bed. The wifi is patchy but that wasn't a big deal to us. Breakfast was nice; hot food (eggs, sausages, rice, beans, toast) and pastries, cakes, fruit etc. There is a water dispenser supplying filtered water. We had to leave early for the airport to start the trek and they had packed us a breakfast box so we could have something to eat. The hotel stored some of our luggage, free of charge, while we were away on the trek. The staff are lovely and polite. The hotel is very centrally located with some lovely restaurants on the doorstep and of course all kinds of souvenir shops in very close proximity. We paid for one night that was extra to our trip and it's very reasonably priced. There will be cheaper hotels available but pwhen you're going to trek it's nice to have a comfy bed for the few days before you go!
