Park Hotel Kenmare

This was our second visit to The Park Hotel and we hope to return in the future. Why? Because it has the best trained and genuinely friendly staff. No request is too much. Moreover, the hotel is a classic vintage estate with lovely grounds and views. Our room was first class and the meals at their restaurant are as fine as you'll find at any hotel anywhere. Special mention to staff members like Laura, Mattheis, Maria, and Phillip.

We recently stayed at the Park Kenmare for 2 nights and it was brilliant from start to finish We ate in all the food outlets and all were fantastic but particularly the Landline restaurant. Smoked salmon was high quality both mornings for breakfast. For dinner the foccacia bread and the pork cheek and farfalle pasta were the standouts. My wife loved the quail starter also. Service was brilliant everywhere, knowledgeable but not intrusive. We really loved the complimentary cake and tea at 4 pm everyday- perfect classic sponge w cream and raspberry jam. The leisure centre/ steam room / outdoor pool was amazing and felt very exclusive. The piano player in the lounge was highly skilled and interactive and most enjoyable. The view from our room was spectacular. We will definately return and be recommending to friends and family.

Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Service excellent from check in/out, bar, restaurant and spa. Weather was great while we were there so were able to have breakfast outside on the second day and the views were amazing. Well worth visiting.

This was the last of the 5 star hotels on our bucket list in Kerry . We stay in Kerry a lot right through the year. We recently retired so we booked at the last minute on Sunday morning as the forecast looked good for the afternoon. This was a very disappointing visit for us. Firstly the hotel has no wow factor at all.This is something that varies from hotel to hotel but we would always expect a 5 star hotel to have something that sets it apart. Even in the bar a Gin and tonic was served in a standard half pint glass. It is without doubt the worst check-in desk I have ever seen in any hotel. Just a round table tucked away in a corner .No one attending it and no notice to suggest it was indeed the reception desk. I had to go to the bar to ask one of the staff where it was. They in turn had to go to the room adjacent to find someone to check us in. While we waited for the receptionist to return from the office my wife commented that it was like waiting outside the head masters office for punishment. As they say you can only make a first impression once and this was not good. We were on the 3rd floor and the room was very spacious with wonderful views. The furniture however is very old and the bed too small. I am 6ft tall and my feet were hanging out the end of the bed quite a bit. Cables around the TV not even tidied up. ( Pic attached .Its the simple things not done right that look bad ) I would suggest that their management also look at redoing the floor coverings in the hallway on the 3rd floor as it squeaks with every step. The hotel, for us , lacks atmosphere. Now breakfast was beautiful . Just cannot fault it . Overall this was a very disappointing stay for us . KD

The best three days away I've had in a long time. None of us wanted to leave. The hotel is just so lovely. Our rooms were newly renovated and were done so in a very simple but elegant style. Large and spacious with double doors opening out onto our own private patio overlooking the gardens and water. The rest of the hotel again is a very elegant, calm and comfortable place to relax. The food was delicious with our favourite meal being the dinner on the second night. Very different and packed full of flavour, the scallops and aubergine dishes being our favourites. The spa was one of the best I've experienced. Big enough to feel spacious but small enough to feel cozy. The outdoor thermal pool set amongst the trees overlooking the water was magic. The location is as good as it gets. Just a few paces from kenmare with access to walks along the water and mountains. The staff were welcoming and friendly, everyone of them. I really feel they made our stay. I really really would love to visit again some time.

The hotel was beautiful, old world elegance with a very relaxing atmosphere. The grounds were gorgeous and wonderful to walk. Our room was beautiful, the bathroom was fabulous and the bed was very comfortable . The service was excellent, everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Overall it’s one of the best places we have stayed and we did not want to leave.

The new owners changes have enhanced the experience. The art collection is just extraordinary. What a privilege to be in a gorgeous dining room surrounded by sublime paintings! In beautiful spring gardens. A great new era for this grand hotel is launched.

Park Kenmare is chic & luxurious with stunningly beautiful views but what makes this hotel stand-out so significantly is the hospitable & warm team who work there. Also awesome coffee upgrade! Thank you for having us.

We had heard great things about the new ownership of the Park Hotel, and that it should have great coffee due to the owner having owned Blue Bottle Coffee chain in New York. But the coffee wasn’t good at all. No velvety foam expected with a good flat white. It was more like an Americano and was only Luke warm. At seven euros a coffee I would have expected more. However staff were all very welcoming and we loved the new art collection. Do hope this issue might be just a glitch!
