Corfu SunGate Hotel

The place is really run down and doesn’t match the photos advertised unfortunately. Our family room was upstairs with no lift so we had to carry the prams etc upstairs which became a nuisance. The food was terrible and breakfast especially cold. The restaurant staff were rude and at times obnoxious. Hygiene overall was well below expectations and our room fell short of basic needs. The hairdryer had melted to the wall and the mosquito net was torn. Overall the whole place felt unclean, unhygienic and the staff were rude. We’ve stayed in other places in Greece and travelled with Jet2 prior so this was a very disappointing choice to represent a holiday on both parts.

Hôtel rénové avec un personnel très sympathique, souriant et disponible. Piscine agréable. Très bien situé. Seul petit bémol: salle d eau à “rafraîchir “. Possibilité de louer des véhicules directement à l hôtel. Excellent séjour de 10 jours .

W hotelu SUNGATE moje dzieci zostały dotkliwie pogryzione przez pluskwy. Pani menadżer dopiero po awanturze zgodziła się zmienić nam pokój. Pluskwy znajdowały się pod łóżkiem piętrowym dzieci. Musieliśmy wzywać lekarza. Oczywiście po naszej wyprowadzce z pokoju następnego dnia umieszczono w nim kolejną rodzinę. Dramat! Zepsute wakacje. Do tego brudna i śmierdząca toaleta przy basenie. Zdecydowanie odradzam.

Upon arrival at 1am in pitch black, no lighting, nothing open, we were basically kicked off the coach with luggage and abandoned in the middle of a single road with nothing around us open or lit up. Talk about scary! Eventually the night porter came down to find us (must have seen us on CCTV?) Reception was down an alley, past the bar, swimming pool then restaurant! At reception he demanded the tourist tax which hadn't been explained to us by the holiday company. He refused to let us sort it out in the morning and wouldn't let us check in until we paid... In cash not card payment, we didn't get a receipt either which played on my mind. Eventually he walks us to our room. We don't take too much notice but obviously know it's not what we booked, I just wanted to get my 7 year old to bed. Rooms do NOT look as advertised! Bathroom has a small shower head that you have to hold, just to get Luke warm water. 2 sockets by bed but none anywhere else or near the dressing table and mirror. No drawers for clothes, only open cupboard with a small hanging rail (with 3 hangers!!) but no doors. Safe dosnt work, Aircon worked sometimes. No mezzanine floor, no nice shower room. Our first room had a leaking Aircon system on the balcony which left it flooded all the time, hotels answer was to put a towel under it & not change it, so the balcony floods again! Our "view" was of wasteland with overgrown bushes, trees & rubbish. Loads of mosquitoes there and we worked out the actual canal runs behind the wasteland. There are no airers to hang your wet clothes/swimsuits & towels. Forget using the TV, no English channels. The beds were comfy tho. Complained to jet2 rep but she never came back to us. 3 days later, the hotel move us but there's not much difference, I think the shower curtain was a tad longer. Screw sticking out of the ground where the French doors close. Balcony is rotten, slabs on balcony are broken. Aircon worked most of the time but couldn't get it working on the last day, hotel didn't offer to send anyone out. The bunk bed ladder dosnt fit securely. None of the locks seem to work more than a couple of times. Our first night we were actually locked in the room all night, maintenance were called to let us out. The shower head exploded full of sand and grit all over the bathroom wall and floor. Maintenance fixed it but no one cleared it up. Cleaning staff were very nice and good at cleaning. Never found the play area that's described but outside our new room was a rusty, rotten swing set. Food was cold, Luke warm at best. Soup was never hot. The food got put out 15 minutes before service with no covers! Food choices were repetitive so boring, no Greek dishes, children's food was cold chips every night with chicken nuggets twice, hot dogs twice & pizza once. The snacks in-between meals was a partially covered baking tray of half sandwiches. No plates only serviettes if you were lucky! Sandwiches were made with mayo, no butter, and were the same...

Just come back from a great holiday in the sungate hotel sidari, our room was brilliant, even though had to climb 20 stairs at 70 yrs old no mean feet.but saying that the staff helped us up with the luggage,the one great thing about this hotel is the staff,from the reception to bar and kitchen they were all amazing. The one critique we had is the food,even though it was varied was the fact that no matter what time you went down for it it was cold and warm at most,a microwave would have been ideal.cold or warm food breeds bacteria, this needs to be addressed, otherwise a great holiday.

Stayed 2 weeks All inclusive as a couple in room 411 Our room was lovely and had been refurbished including the bathroom . The bed was comfortable and I asked for a softer pillow which wasn’t a problem . There is a dressing table but you will need to take an extension cable as there are only 2 sockets and neither are near the table . There is a large fridge and flat screen tv but only has 1 English Channel ( News) Rooms are cleaned daily except Sunday and towels are changed daily . Never had a problem getting a sunbed but I imagine there wouldn’t be enough in high season Staff were friendly and helpful So why have given this hotel a Poor rating ? The All inclusive Food and Drink element completely lets it down . Hot food is cold at Breakfast , Lunch And Dinner . They seem to find it impossible to keep food warm.and makes it inedible . The food is almost identical at every meal and is cooked with what tastes like very large amounts of salt added . It’s a real shame as the food looks ok but tastes awful. The cakes were good but were exactly the same each meal. Flies and wasps are a problem too , regularly landing on the food . There is nothing in place to prevent them. You help yourself to icecream , so children have their hands all over open tubs of it and the scoop is kept in a jug in water left there all day A picnic lunch has to be ordered the day before but you only get a sandwich and an apple ( ours had grubs in it ) and apparently you usually get bottle of water but they had ran out ! The spirits in the bar are quite good but the mixers especially the cola was the worst I have ever tasted , so had to buy my own from the shop next door and bring it to the bar with me as other guests were doing too as well as buying their own wine If I had just been staying room only I would have rated it average / good but the food and drink completely let it down so unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because of it .

Where to start - booked this in approx April, it was a 4 star All Inclusive trip advisor. Boy has it gone downhill fast. Food - poor selection and it was always cold, morning, noon and Night afternoon snacks where a couple of trays of sandwiches, which went quick. There is plenty of Ice Cream availabe all day. Drinks - Draught beer was fine, but they ran out of it 4 days while i was there. Cocktails, a very basic 4 to choose from. There are plenty of shorts on offer. location - Superb, fantastic beaches and coves nearby 10 minutes walkat most, DO NOT DIVE OFF THE CLIFFS IN CANAL D'ARMOUR its to shallow and you will break you neck and 10-15 minutes walk to the *****, that has tribute shows, acts and live bands and of course karaoki. Accomodation - run down, lots of my accom was in need of repairs and the shower was a hand rinse shower tap on the wall, ok if your 3ft tall, overhead wooden struts were rotten and the aircon kept us awake several times. it was clean though, Maid service daily. People - Superb, friendly and pleasant. Pool - bit slimy but just doable, some green slime round the edges and a little merky. I noticed as i was leaving it was getting a mega clean. parasols & unshades limited but plenty of loungers available. This could be a fab hotel if they mantained the building and improved the food by heating and giving a better selection. I am not negative generally, but things need to improve significantly if i was to book again.

De locatie in Sidari was prima, alleen het hotel was niet wat ervan verwacht was en wat op de website vermeld werd. We hadden een maisonette (d.w.z. boven en beneden). Op de website stond met twee badkamers terwijl dit hotel nooit twee badkamers heeft gehad. Het zou gerenoveerd zijn, dat klopt gedeeltelijk, maar niet de badkamers

Witam, przebywaliśmy z żoną i znajomymi w tym hotelu w dniach 28.05. do 04.06.2022 r. Pobyt był bardzo sympatyczny, obsługa bardzo miła, dokładająca wszelkich starań, by pobyt był atrakcyjny i spokojny. Posiłki bardzo urozmaicone, smaczne, w ilościach ogromnych. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje jednak Pani Patrycja - młoda Polka, która mieszka w Sidari i pracuje w obsłudze gości hotelowych. Jest kobietą bardzo energiczną, uczynną, dbającą o gości, szczególne o Polaków. Dzięki niej czuliśmy się tam jak w domu. Jesteśmy jej bardzo wdzięczni za szczególną pomoc, której nam udzieliła, gdy moja siostra zasłabła na basenie. Pani Patrycjo, brawo, tak buduje się super opinie o Polakach poza krajem. Ze strony Grecosa wspomagał nas Pan Kamil, super doradca i przewodnik, dzięki któremu pojechaliśmy na wspaniałą wycieczkę po Korfu. Pan Kamil bardzo pomógł mojej siostrze w opisanej powyżej sytuacji, zachował się wspaniale, za co jestem mu bardzo wdzięczny. Z pewnością przyjemnie nam będzie skorzystać ponownie z oferty Grecosa, który okazał się biurem podróży na 5 z plusem. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
