Failte Hotel

We stayed for 2 nights and was slightly shocked at €280 with NO breakfast included. 2 flights of narrow stairs so not for the disabled , unsure if there was a lift ? We ate at the restaurant on our first night and the food was delightful and filling. The room was clean and bathroom was modern with a superb power shower, however the modern bathroom radiator didn’t work , I like to have warm towels after a nice shower . We enjoyed some live music on our second night in the failte with a few drinks . The staff are pleasant and attentive. Also the chamber service is great with fresh towels and bed made up for you . Overall a great little homely place, carpets leading to the bedrooms is worn and threadbare in some parts and someone must have been smoking in their room as there was a strong smell of smoke on the bedroom level , the only let down was breakfast not included for the price and probably in need of some TLC in the near future . But thanks for a nice stay .

This was one of the most pleasant surprises in all of Ireland. This is by far the best little communities to stay in in Ireland. The Failte Hotel is right above the bar - don’t worry about noise, the bar closes at 11:00pm. Remember, this is an older historical right downtown structure but it is worth the stay. Party downstairs and walk up to your room after, you can’t beat that service. The only warning I have is, as a retired firefighter, I would ask them to change their lock system on their doors - once you lock the door (unless you have a key) you cannot get out of your room and it’s a 3 storey jump to the ground - no fire escape.

The Hotel itself is very tried but is filled with friendly staff the room was uncomfortable to small and very warm bed very uncomfortable pillows horribly tin should been throw out along time ago TV didn't work, breakfast severed to late 8.30am had meeting at 9.15am so was unable to have breakfast.

We had three rooms for our family of 7. Two of them were updated and very nice. The family room could use some new mattresses. Fans were provided in two rooms and a hair dryer was provided in one, which was nice. The staff was very friendly. Mark kindly helped us carry our luggage upstairs. Having a restaurant in the building was nice for breakfast and we really enjoyed it for the live music at night. The location of the hotel can’t be beat. We would definitely stay here again.

Good bar food, with very good service; the staff meade sure awkward order were met fully. I had a nice Caesar saad with moist chicken and given that we arrived towards the end of service this was exceptional.

So this is a basic 3 star hotel in Kilarney, but we did enjoy it. It is a very quick easy walk from the train station. Our room accommodated 4 people easily with one full and two twin beds. The room was relatively clean, but something about it was dusty and caused me to be stuffy all night so not a great sleep. The shower worked fine but they only provide you with liquid hand soap, so you really will want your own shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel- this was fine for one night, but my long-haired daughter was really unhappy about not having shampoo and conditioner available. The breakfast in the restaurant is not included, but that was made clear on the reservation, and it was very good. The full Irish breakfast was perfect and exactly what we wanted. We only stayed one night, but two nights here would be fine if you are spending more time in the town.

You couldn't pick a better spot in the town , but we were a little disappointed in the room we had to be honest, bit grubby with a noisy uncomfortable bed and no breakfast Inc which for the price again was disappointing. Hanging space was a coat rack on the wall. Though to be fair the paid breakfast we did have there was very good and the staff were excellent,just a shame about the room.

This was such a lovely way to experience Killarney. It was one of the few places able to accommodate a family of four, with a queen bed and two singles. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us check in early to drop of our luggage after a short walk from the train station. The bar and restaurant were both great- we went for dinner the first night and then for breakfast in the morning. Nice room, only issue was spotty wifi. But a great option for anyone wanting to stay in the center of Killarney!

We didn't stay at this hotel, but we had dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed the music. The performer offered a wonderful mixture of traditional and modern music, and the crowd wanted to listen and were much quieter than usual in this kind of setting.
