Old Weir Lodge

The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean, and breakfast is always excellent. However, the best part of the experience was the staff. They were so warm and accommodating during my 10 day solo stay, that I cannot sing their praises enough. I also enjoyed many an evening in the lovely lounge with a quiet drink and my book, or chatting with fellow travelers. The location is also perfect for someone like me, who is without a car. It is just a few minutes to walk to the National Park , or to the centre of town for lively entertainment, or a great evening meal. Everything was within walking distance, including the train and bus station for jaunts outside of Killarney. Niall and his team are truly the best, and I definitely look forward to staying here again, on my return to Killarney.

Located just a 10 minute walk from the city center. This is the idyllic location to match the charming city of Killarney. From the moment you are greeted at the reception desk to the minute you have a nightcap in the lounge, you are treated to the true highest level of Irish hospitality. The rooms are lovely with all the needed essentials, including a hairdryer and a hot kettle if you wish a cuppa in the morning. The most amazing breakfast you will eat with the kindest most efficient waitstaff! The pastries made fresh daily by Maureen are worth a stay at this lodge all by themselves. Now that I have visited the old Weir Lodge, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when I am in Killarney!

Our experience from booking to leaving was easy and straightforward. The lodge was bigger than I expected, more like a small hotel, but this didn’t detract from the personal experience. The staff were all very helpful, breakfast each morning was lovely, with varied choices and lovely staff. Our room was large, on the first floor, but there was a small elevator. The bed was comfy, the room was warm, & the shower hot. There was off street parking at the front, and we were able to walk into town in about 10 mins.

What a delightful place. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was a short walk to town. The staff was more than amazing in their effort to make our stay a great experience. Everyone from the main desk to the housekeeping to the dining room staff treated us with such care. It was a wonderful place to stay.

All of the staff we interacted with were so warm and welcoming. It truly felt that they cared for our stay with them. Breakfast was great, waitress went out of her way to provide gluten free waffles and let us know what else was gluten free. The rooms were spotless and elegant. Didn’t have a chance to utilize the bar but just a gorgeous room. Every little detail was class. Location a little bit out of downtown but great to walk and also a short drive away to the National Park

Fantastic accommodation 10mins walk from the town centre. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful, offering to book our boat ride to the Gap of Dunloe to save us needing cash for the booking. They also offer a same day laundry service for €26 a bag which was much needed! Lastly the breakfast options are excellent and all round exceptional value for money. We loved our stay there

Old Weir Lodge significantly exceeded our expectations! From the from desk to the dining room, the staff were more helpful and kind than some of our own family. The room was spacious and spotless. The breakfast was fantastic and the lodge was a short 10 min stroll to the city center. Quit scrolling and book Old Weir Lodge. You will not be disappointed, and it is an exceptional value for the money.

Not having visited Killarney for many years we originally chose the Old Weir Lodge because of it's location - halfway between Killarney town and the INEC, a 10 minute walk to either location. The moment we arrived we realised that we had located a little gem - from the extremely friendly and helpful staff, the best breakfasts in Kerry and the little touches in the rooms/bar/lounge. Our 3-night stay was one of the best breaks we have ever had and it won't be long before we're back. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Old Weir Lodge to any visitors to Killarney.

The staff are really kind and helpful, always ready to give recommendations for activities in the area. The room was great, spacious with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. And the breakfasts.... delicious! Lovely continental breakfast, or hot breakfasts to order. Again, the staff were adorable. And the Killarney area is definately not to be missed! Really beautiful. Thank you County Kerry and Old Weir Lodge for making our stay one of the best holidays in ages.
