Premier Inn Kilmarnock

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years due the location of it and have always found it to be just ok. I believe you get what you pay for. I had booked a family / quadruple room for myself and my 2 teenagers ( 15 year old daughter & 13 year old son ) so we had a bed each. When we got to our room we had only 2 beds. I reported this to the receptionist but she said she couldn’t do anything as the hotel was fully booked. She did give me another quilt 🤷‍♂️. Our room 21 had an almost constant banging / tapping coming from our bathroom throughout our stay. I reported this to the receptionist and showed a video of it but again was told she couldn’t do anything about it other than put it in the handover book ( I had 2 grumpy teenagers in the morning ). Room 21 was by far the shabbiest I have stayed in at this hotel. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling. Our phone / internet signals have always been poor at this hotel ( EE & O2 ) so I have always had to purchase the ultimate WiFi here. On this occasion even after the money was taken from the account the WiFi still didn’t work throughout our stay. Overall rather than being the usual ok stay sadly this stay was very poor.

Arrived at 4pm, no one on reception - waited nearly 5 minutes. Pressed button for service but no one arrived. There were another two lots of people behind me. Eventually someone came out. No apology for keeping you waiting. We have various issues with key cards and had to keep getting these reset. Windows were grubby and not cleaned. Food at restaurant wasnt great - pasta didnt taste right. Bacon was tasteless and scrambled egg was anemic. Noise at night wasnt great with some bloke having a great time - fantastic for him but everyone else didnt want to hear you.

After a last minute change to our holiday due to a ferry company cancellation, we had to find alternative accommodation. Have stayed at Premier Inn before so looked this one up and there was availability. Fantastic price for one night stay, easy to find, friendly staff, free parking and the restaurant was very nice, both for an evening meal and breakfast. No road noise as well, great nights sleep.

This Premier Inn is central for cars. It is very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I stay at this hotel as I come to visit my sister who lives in Kilwinning. My husband and I usually stay about three nights. It is perfectly situated for us.

The toilet didn’t work the whole time we have been here and the staff did nothing to help whatsoever when we asked if they could help. All they did was show us a review page. They offered nothing to rectify the issue at all and told us that the receptionist would “go and have a look”. They haven’t fixed anything and haven’t offered us any kind of compensation for it. Annoying to not be able to use a basic human right. Breakfast was also atrocious, over cooked food, staff not available to take orders, buffet was always empty and toilets there were out of order too.

Reception staff looked like they just didn't want to be there which certainly made us feel uncomfortable Ordered dinner wrong order came for both of us I complained only to be told that is what they had wrote down clearly not then I asked for a drink they even mixed that up was not happy at all.

Good for us nearby from hospital not far preimer inn we were happy and lovely room al fine one expect poor WiFi in room and next door meals al lovely foods and bar prefect also poor WiFi staffs nice but looklike short staffs … be nice dressing up

Very handy for hospital visits & having on site restaurant made a big difference. Staff all very pleasant & helpful. Tea making facilities good & could top up tea, milk & sugar from stand at reception.

This is a well managed hotel: the staff appear happy, friendly and relaxed. It feels less corporate, more personal than these types of hotel usually are. We felt cared for, especially by Angela on reception, she was so kind and understanding; she went out of her way to help us (my friend was here for treatment at the nearby hospital). By far the best hotel of its type that I've ever stayed in, it helped us through a very difficult time. We're both very grateful.
