Koh Mak Resort

WARNING THIS IS A FULLMOON PARTY PLACE AND BEACH, This is probably the most difficult review I ever written, because Koh Mak resort is worth at least three stars. Why do I just rate it one? We spent five night after Chris**as here. Three nights and days was totally destroyed because of Full moon party’s with really really strong music on the beach until 06,00 in the morning. Those were held at our hotel and neighbourhood resorts. In my opinion the hotel owners choose easy and fast cash when agreed to let them have the party at their places before taken care of guests like family’s and elderly that can afford this hotels in the long run. Our hotel solved it by giving us back money for three nights. But still my vacation was ruined and me and along several more guest will never go back. JUNKIE ISLAND All over the island we meet stoned people, junkies and drunken youth that visited full moon party night time. On the beach there were so mutch litter and even needels. So I think Koh Maak hotel owners are up to desied what kind of destination they would like to be. SO THIS IS A WARNING, ask before you make a reservation at Koh Mak resort and other resorts. Koh Mak resort it self is in many ways good. It’s located beautiful and the staff especially front desk manager and the two men there were great. Hotels restaurant ain’t that good, messy and not any cosy at all. Chose others. The small cafe is nice! The same family runs the neighbourhood resort Sevana. It’s fantastic!!! Cool restaurant, super friendly staff and great food. Thanks for a fantastic new year’s dinner.

We stayed at miss you beach resort for 6 days in March 2023 we booked a room off booking dot com we had never been to this island before so didn’t know what to expect. Firstly the island is very small you can get round on a moped in a couple of hrs and this is with stopping at beaches. The island itself is very quiet if you want total tranquility the waters are clear the sea warm but beware of the sand flies they are evil. The cost of items such as sun cream and bug spray are way more expensive than mainland so take them with you. Restaurants are mainly in one area of the island which luckily was where we stayed you have a pharmacy bike hire mini marts but no money exchange so again take plenty baht with you. Knowing what we know now I’d say three days max four on this island before moving on unless you do want Robinson cruso total chill out lazy days doing very little. One tip we did learn that was very useful is if you do get bitten then cover it in a high alcohol content hand gel it apparently breaks down the protein in the bite and doesn’t leave such a itchy bite but re apply every ten mins until you feel a difference it worked for me. Most taxi seem to be 100 baht so if you don’t have transfer from ferry expect to pay 100 baht. To sum it up lovely island very green very quiet laid back a**osphere a bit more expensive than other islands. Any questions feel free to email me snakefacenick@aol.com

We found the beach 2 years ago visiting Koh Mak and wanted to come back. The beach is one of the most beautiful places i have seen in my life after travelling a lot for the last 12 years! The resort is located directly at the beach, clean and beautiful bungalows. We didnt use the pool. Breakfast can be selected from a menu, very good coffee and wonderful, attentive staff. In the evenings, music might be very loud from somewhere but thats okay for me. For me, this place is a paradise and i would definately come back. เรามาพักเป็นครั้งที่2ค่ะ รอบนี้เจอฝนทุกวันเพราะมาช่วง low season เลยเจอแตนทะเลครั้งแรกของการเที่ยวทะเล รักษารอยดำกันยาวววไปค่ะ อาหารเช้าน้อยไปนิด แต่อาหารที่สั่งทานอร่อยทุกเมนูค่ะ พนักงานน่ารักเหมือนเดิม แต่ห้องพักช่วงเช้าจะมีน้องหนูวิ่งปลุก บนหลังคาทุกเช้าเลยค่ะ ไม่ได้เดินเล่นหน้าหาดตอนเช้า เพราะฝนตกทุกวัน ชอบเกาะหมากเพราะเป็นเกาะ low carbon การท่องเที่ยวของเราไม่ทำร้ายธรรมชาติ ขยะบนเกาะเเทบไม่มีเลย ทุกที่มีการจัดการขยะดีมากๆ ร้านอาหารนอกรีสอร์ทก็อร่อยทุกที่จริงๆค่ะ อยากให้ทุกคนมาพักผ่อน สัมผัสธรรมชาติที่เกาะหมากสักกันครั้งนะคะ （＾ｖ＾）

Un paradis ! Des bungalows très mignons et confortables. Une vue à couper le souffle. Un transfert en speedboat avec arrivée directement à l'hôtel. Personnel charmant. Des activités très chouettes proposées. Restaurant très bon. Petit déjeuner face à la plage un régal. Allez y les yeux fermés ou plutôt bien ouverts.

Die Hotelanlage liegt direkt am Strand mit Blick auf die kleine Insel Koh Kham. Mit dem Speedboat gelangt man direkt an das Koh Mak Resort Pier und kann direkt im Hotel einchecken. Der Check-in aber auch der check-out verlief sehr schnell und unkompliziert. Die Bungalows liegen fast direkt am Strand, einer der schönsten Strände an denen wir je waren. Die Bungalows sind einfach ausgestattet, wirken ers**al klein aber sind für zwei Personen ausreichend groß. Reinigung findet jeden Tag statt. Leider bietet das Hotel keine Pool/Strandhandtücher, daran sollte man im Vorfeld denken. Sonst war alles sauber und tadellos, auch wenn die Einrichtung etwas einfach und alt wirkt. Im Zimmer gibt es einen kleinen Kühlschrank und jeden Tag zwei Flaschen Wasser. Wi-Fi funktioniert in der gesamten Hotelanlage. Im Hotel gibt es noch eine kleine und schöne Poolanlage, da der kristallklare Strand direkt vor der Tür liegt, ist der Pool fast immer menschenleer. Auch die Anzahl der Gäste verteilt sich am Strand, womit man fast immer das Gefühl hat alleine zu sein. Im Hotel gibt es eine kleine Poststelle und Motorradverleih, auch kann man hier Ausflüge buchen. Mit dem Motorrad kann man Koh-Mak problemlos erkunden, da es eine sehr kleine Insel ist. Andernfalls kann man sich überall ein Sammeltaxi rufen lassen. Restaurants und Geschäfte gibt es am Hotel nicht, dafür ist dann ein Motorrad oder Sammeltaxi notwendig. Unserer Rückreise fand an einen anderen Pier statt, das Hotel hat hierfür einen eigen Shuttle und hat uns dorthin gefahren (toller Service!). Das Frühstück findet im Hotelrestaurant statt, es ist einfach aber okay. Spiegeleiger oder Omlet werden frisch zubereitet. Sonst gibt es alles was man braucht: Toast, Kaffee, Saft, Obst, Reisgerichte etc. Schön ist direkt am Pier und Strand zu sitzen, den Kaffee zu trinken und die Menschen am Pier die abreisen oder ankommen zu beobachten. Abends kann im Hotelrestaurant nach Karte gegessen werden. Ebenfalls gibt es eine schöne kleine Hotelbar nähe dem Restaurant und Pier. Koh-Mak ist eine kleine Insel, abends um 22 Uhr schließt auch die letzte Bar. Für uns wurde die Hotelbar dann auch mal länger geöffnet. Vielen Dank an Sun und das restliche Team, wir hatten dort alle zusammen viel Spaß und eine tolle Zeit verbracht. Das Koh-Mak Resort ist sicherlich kein Luxusresort und preislich auch nicht die günstigste Unterkunft auf Koh-Mak, der Strand und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter sind es aber Wert. Wir haben uns total wohlgefühlt und wunderschöne Tage auf Koh-Mak verbracht. Von uns bekommt das Hotel 100% Weiterempfehlung. Wir kommen sicherlich zurück!

Avis juste pour le restaurant : Parfait pour un déjeuner les pieds dans le sable. Service souriant et efficace. Les plats sont simples mais bien réalisés. Le choix est varié entre plats tai et western food.

目の前が綺麗な海。部屋からも綺麗な海と 向こうにはクート島まで見える最高の部屋。部屋の中も白く明るく 本当に最高のリゾートを味わえます。スタッフも皆様 良くしてくれるし クート島へも好きな時間にボートで送り迎えしてくれました。一人300バーツですがクート島の綺麗な海でシュノーケル他 いっぱい楽しめるので価値はあります。一つだけ注意が必要なのは ビーチに 熱帯地方に住むあぶみたいのがいてそれに刺されると腫れるし 痛く 痒いので 十分ご注意を。虫除けスプレーは MUST です。食事は隣のホテルまで ビーチを歩いていけるので そこが美味しいです。ただ 時間がかかるので。。マック島では超オススメホテルです。
