Within 5 minutes of checking in, we returned to the reception area to complain. It was closed. We were not able to locate any staff in the hotel. We complained to **********. We had to wait for approximately 3 hours for the hotelier to provide an answer to enquiries made directly by staff at ********** We found a phone number on a board in the foyer and called the hotelier at about 7.30 p.m. She refused to continue our conversation because her dinner was going cold. She said she would return to the hotel at 9.00 p.m. She refused to tell us where we could leave the key when we told her we were not staying. She said no other hotels in the area had air conditioning, that her price was good, and it included breakfast and parking. She refused to accept that the hotel was listed with air conditioning in each of the room and said the restaurant downstairs had air conditioning. In the end, ********** relocated us to a very nice air-conditioned hotel after the hotelier failed to respond to them. The room was hot even with the window open. It did not have an insect screen and it was above a noisy street with children playing and screeching below. The hotelier was not helpful and failed to appreciate that we also wanted to have our dinner and settle into suitable accommodation at a reasonable hour. Finally, we checked into our new hotel shortly before 10.00 p.m.
