A-Na-Lay Resort Koh Kood

Beautiful hotel, one of the most beautiful spots and beaches of all the island. The hotel was very local and calm.

Mediocre stay at best. The view and location of the hotel was excellent - the rest was an experience to say the least. We found the hotel in itself to be poorly kept, accommodations were old and quite beat up (mold everywhere in the room, bathrooms in poor condition) - not at all what you would expect from the pictures on their website. The wooden bridge/walk that spans the length of the hotel was very dangerous: lots of planks were loose or not screwed in altogether, rusted nails poking out. The breakfast staff was rude at times, no "good morning", if you'd ask for something they'd point it out with their nose and walk away. The food was okay. Overall, for the price this came at, it was a big letdown.

We visit Koh Kood every year. As a family of three, we drive from Bangkok, park at the paid Ana Lay private parking lot, and then take a shuttle bus to catch either a speedboat or a ferry. Our usual pattern on Koh Kood is spending the whole day at the beach — playing in the sand, snorkeling, and taking some photos. Ana Lay Resort is located slightly on a hillside. As you walk down, you’ll find it surrounded by large rocks, and the property is arranged in a terraced style with a wide variety of room types. They also seem to be continuously adding new rooms closer to the beach. One of the highlights is the wooden walkway built among the large rocks — it blends beautifully with nature without damaging the environment, making it perfect for photos or a relaxing stroll. If you follow the path, you’ll reach the beach. The sandy beach is much larger than it looks in photos. At first, we were worried there might not be much sand, but we were pleasantly surprised by the size. There is also a spot where freshwater meets the sea, which is one of our favorite places. You can clearly see the changing scenery between high tide and low tide at this point. From the pier where the resort’s speedboats dock, you can enjoy diving and snorkeling. On the beach, you can easily spend the entire day playing in the sand. Breakfast isn’t extremely varied, but they offer freshly made noodle soup, bacon, and egg dishes, which we enjoyed. In the evening, the sunset view is stunning. The resort clearly recognizes this and has built the restaurant in a perfect location, making it easy to focus more on the scenery than the meal. I’m not sure if it’s every day, but the staff at Ana Lay also prepare a fire show. The quality was higher than expected, and we were very satisfied. This trip made it easy to understand why this place is popular among Thai travelers. We stayed for four days, and the staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Sometimes we rented a motorbike to go for lunch, dinner, or visit other beaches. A standard motorbike costs 300 baht per day, and a newer one costs 350 baht.

I loved staying here so much so that I came back a week later and stayed for another 4 nights. This resort has everything you need. A private beach fantastic snorkelling I saw a turtle !!! Breakfast is abundant !! The resort has so many nice locations for IG hotshots!! My pictures below gives you some ideas!! Koh kood Accomodation is extortionate all spring the island lmost expensive isalnd in all of Thailand. If you are a beach bum like me then then you will be spoilt. The beaches are all so perfect. Unbeatable anywhere else. So it’s worth investing in a nice resort like a na lay! I have already invested to going back for 2 weeks staying at this resort. The staff were so polite and kind and sweet. The moment you arriveat the parking everyone smiles. I felt so at home. I am so glad I had found this resort my second home that’show I felt. The owner was a wonderful family run who went out of their way and their staff to help me and made sure whatever I need was met. Thank you to all the staff who took care of me. And made my holidays special memorable because I was going through a tough times at this moment. I am very grateful for all the help that I have received from the staff at this moment. Wonderful resort on a beautiful private beach. Its in need of touch up repairs all over which detracts from it. There are paddle boards / kayaks but you arent told about them. The restaurant is good and the food is nice but it closes really early and that was it. You can walk to more food and drink options but it isnt clear and you are not told about them.

I had a wonderful stay at this resort and truly enjoyed every moment. The beach was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. One of the highlights was the long wooden pier where you can take peaceful walks and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape—it felt like a little escape within the escape. The resort itself is charming and well-designed, almost like a small journey in miniature. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, creating a cozy and unique atmosphere. We were also pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, as our original room was already occupied. The new room was even more beautiful, which made our stay even more special. Breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options to choose from, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. The only downside was the key deposit, which was noticeably higher compared to other accommodations in Thailand. Additionally, the motorbike rental price was also more expensive than what we found elsewhere. It would be great if the resort could align these costs more closely with local standards and avoid taking advantage of tourists. Overall, despite these small issues, I would definitely recommend this resort for its beauty, atmosphere, and overall experience.

Amazing location and nature but otherwise in a really bad condition. The place could be so much better, the nature around it is very beautiful and the place has a lot of potential. But the main areas look like built 20+ years ago and haven't since been renewed. Unfortunately it seems that the management just doesn't care and are not trying to make things better. It left us with a feeling that even with just 1 day, we could improve this resort by a lot. So our opinion is that it's not worth this 120 USD a day rate despite it's natural beauty, and there are better alternatives on the island. General recommendation for families - pool is really not necessary in Koh Kood as the beaches are so amazing. So better book a cheaper beach-front bungalow than search for a resort with a pool, and you won't regret!
