Hotel room and beach is good, but service is terrible! Some of the Hotel workers are rude, lobby manager not professional at all!!

We stayed at Mitsis Rinela at the end of the tourist season when it was fairly quite. Still all the facilities were available to us. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying at this place.

Mitsis Rinela is wonderful all round - friendly staff, quality service, beautiful grounds, great entertainment options, varied delicious food and drinks. We had a lovely time and have zero complaints. They kindly made my birthday special with a cake and gifts. Will happily return !

The hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard and the vast majority of staff have been fantastic. The bbq, pizza and crepes made fresh to order were all delicious and there was lots of drinks choices at all of the bars. The hotel is clean, our room was lovely with a fantastic view and we had a great time. There were plenty of sun loungers by the pool and on the beach and we never struggled to find somewhere to sit. The bus stop into Heraklion is just outside and the busses are regular and clean.
There are however, a few areas for improvement;
- The lobby bar and main restaurant have not been refurbished and are quite dated, although very clean as the rest of the hotel.
- The food at the buffet was good but quite repetitive, the a la carte restaurants were generally good but we found the Taverna very oily and quite poor.
- Most staff were extremely helpful and polite but a couple were rude, the woman at the pizza place was rude on a couple of occasions.

Great service and staff professionalism, amazing food all day round, superb beach and pool facilities. Fantastic hotel stau for families with kids. In addition, the hotel lighting is so lovely, giving it a nice glow at night.

Mitsis Rinela is a wonderful option for a five star all inclusive vacation in Crete. The facilities are optimal, with amazing pool and beach for perfect swimming. The hotel is all about details with small gestures such as supplies of good quality gifts, beach bags and personalized hand written notes delivered to your room. There is raki and sweets in the rooms, nicely stacked minibars and incredibly comfy beds and bathrooms. The food is amazing as well with crepe bar and several great restaurants with a la carte menu. The activities are well organized and fun as the service and personnel. For us this is the first visit but certainly not the last! Efharisto!!!

Hotel and the hotel area are very beautifull. Main restaurant have not been renovated yet so it is in original condition. There was no pictures in advance of the restaurant so this was a shock. Other restaurants were beautiful and peacefull, but impossible to reach. We tried reservations on our first day, but it was too late.
Also the fitness area was on the beach in the description, but IRL it was in the old tenniscourt and open only few hours per day. So that was disappointing.
Overall, hotel is very beatiful, beds are comfortable, rooms are quiet and the food is ok. Service is not so friendly neither quick. We had a very nice vacation here in late October and the weather was very good. I would rate hotel area 5 star (exluding main restaurant 1 star), service and food 3 star. I would go back when they renovate the main restaurant.

Very nicely decorated hotel and surrounding gardens and beach area immaculately maintained. Would highly recommend getting the a la carte restaurants booked before you arrive, as they are a cut above the regular buffet restaurant.
My only criticisms is the openness of the balcony areas. It doesn’t feel very private and if you are next to neighbours who smoke, it’s not very pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view. Also the rooms feel a tad on the small side, especially if you have a baby cot set up in the room, feels like perhaps a few pieces of furniture table, sofa (we had two of each in the room) etc could either be removed entirely or replaced with some more storage.

Loved this place went for a solo birthday and it was everything and more. friendly staff good weather amazing food options and ambience. if you plan on going look no further just go! I'm planning to go again next year because it is a must. you will find peace of mind here.
