The front desk was very helpful. She typed out for me in Chinese to show DiDi drivers the places I wanted to go. And I could charge my power bank overnight behind the reception while my phone charged next to my bed.
There’s a very long wide balcony boardwalk with city views plus a room to sit and meet people that is covered in Western old movie pictures. The rooms have the usual socket for phone charging by the bed and curtains around the beds for privacy.
It’s a good place to stay.

Huake
was previously a hotel converted into an international youth hostel. We booked a twin-bed room for one night. There is a Uyghur girl who spoke impecable Mandarin with a tad bit of Beijing ascent at the front desk when we arrived. The check-in was speedy. The room was spacious and clean so were the bedding (no foul smell). The uniqueness about this hostel is, it does not provide bath towels and toilet papers. Instead, guests are given one-use towels and a pack of tissue papers which we double up as toilet papers. Initially, I thought the one-use towels (place on a try in the room) were bathing soap because they were in compressed form so I went to ask the Uyghur girl for towls and she told me those are actually compressed one-use towels.
There are restaurants and minimarts next to the hostel and a night food street nearby (approx 200-300m by foot). No a bad choice if you need a layover or a couple of days stay to explore Kuqa.

The shower situation is kind of bad because all the showers are over the toilet. The beds in the hostel are extremely comfortable and the rooms are sufficiently dark. Hostel has a nice balcony area where the photo I posted was taken .

*You have to enter through the super 8 lobby and take the elevator up to the 9th floor* It is near enough to the train station to walk, and there is a bus stop near enough to get around to the sights within the city. Ladies at reception were helpful through translator communication. Facilities seemed a little run down.

nice place to stay, comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels. The owner took us on a couple of road trips and he charged a very fair price.

The lady at the reception was really kind and gives a lot of information about things to do and good restaurants (she doesn't speak English but with translate we could communicate well). The room is large, but smelled a bit of smoke. There was no mirror and almost all the chairs on the terrace were broken. However, it is a great value for money! The street downstairs has some really nice restaurants.
The entrance to the hostel is through the entrance of the Super8 hotel.
