Gionkoh

The location of the accommodation is nearby a couple of nice temples / shrines. The street where it is located gives the old school Japanese street vibe that you can see from old Japanese shows. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. If there is anything to be mindful of, do note the walls are slightly thin, so sounds will pass through quite easily, which is why ear plugs are also prepared for those who wants lesser noise.

This is a very cosy and quaint ryokan hosted by a most helpful local, Hiro. The futons were super comfortable and I didn't want to get out of bed. Extremely well located in the heart of the old district, though a bit of a walk from the nearest train and metro stations. Take a cab if you have a lot of luggage. We stayed on the first floor and had our own bath and toilet. Toilet was a bit chilly as we stayed during winter. The bath tub was lovely to soak in for those cold winter nights. Hiro was very patient, accommodating, and attentive to our needs. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nice and authentic guesthouse with beautiful garden and cozy lounge zone. Near bunch of cool sights: Kyomizu dera, Yasaka shrine, Gion District etc. Hiro was a very nice and helpful host. I felt like home in this stay:)

房東帥氣且英語很好，也能理解我的simple English。我提前到了，房間空着就提前辦理了入住，省去了遊玩中途折返辦理入住的時間。整個民宿佈局像是一個緊湊的合院，中間有個靜心佈置的園藝：鯉魚池和開着花的紫薇樹。我們住在二樓，一樓有廚房和可以休息喝茶看園藝的走廊。一共可以住5户，看見很多歐洲遊客住這邊。室內是榻榻米，住3個人沒問題。有乾濕分離的獨立衞生間（淋浴+浴缸）和獨立的馬桶間。對於木質結構的二層房子，爬樓梯和走動時的聲音是你需要預估的。這裏最大的優點是離八阪神社、二年阪、三年阪、清水寺近在咫尺，路上都是各種日式小餐館、咖啡廳、也有711全家以及小診所，走走也能到鴨川或者四條商圈。

Without a doubt, the most beautiful place to stay in Kyoto! This very old, typically Japanese house overlooks a patio garden whose koi pond enchanted me! The owner, Hiro, having lived in the West, speaks French, English, and even Spanish, and can advise you on your sightseeing. The house is located in the heart of Gion, close to the must-see attractions. Special mention goes to the shared kitchen, a real bonus, and the decor in general. The only downside: the Wi-Fi, whose passwords change depending on where you are, but it works well, so no complaints there.

My stay at the Gion Koh was nothing short of extraordinary. Located in the heart of Kyoto's history Gion district, this Ryokan offered an authentic Japanese experience steeped in tradition and charm. Hyro, the owner, was exceptionally kind and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Hyro's warmth and dedication to his guests made this stay unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend Gion Koh to anyone.

A highlight of our visit to Kyoto We loved the mood at Gion Koh. It was full of original character, antiques and quiet jazz. We felt like very welcome guests to a family home. Guests' every comfort has been considered. The location is very handy to everything.
