Dragon Dive Komodo Dive Resort

Staff were super friendly, the dive shop as part of the hotel is incredibly well run and we had a great time diving as part of our trip. Location is perfect, really close everything you’ll want to do while staying here.

Amazing stay from start to finish. Rooms were clean & well maintain, the bathroom came with shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, as well as ample towels. The bed was comfortable & the air conditioning worked well. We did the Central day dive, we were told all the information we needed at check in the night before, including completing our paperwork and kit fitting. A light breakfast is included in the dive and js available from 6am. We took a short walk to the harbour at 7am and boarded the boat. There was about 12-15 people on the boat, across two decks. The groups of 2-4 people with guide/instructor/dive master & there was room to put on gear at both the front and back of the boat. We completed three dives where we saw so much, our guide was amazing & helped us find and identify fish, sharks, mantas & turtles. Lunch was provided, as well as snacks and towels. Cannot recommend this hotel & dive company enough, great communication from booking through to check-out!

We didn't stay at Dragon Dive Komodo Hotel - so this is not about the hotel, but about the dive center attached to it. We were booked for a 5 day package for 2 persons, both rescue divers. On request we were told, that deep dive speciality certification for my son would be possible. But on 3 occasions this got cancelled because of too much work or missing dive instructor, which made us upset because this was one of the goals of that diving holiday. Kevin - the manager - was very quick in asking all the money, but he wouldn't do the effort to help us out with a solution. The dive trips were ok, we went to he places which were advertised, but the briefings were sometimes not understanable because of the lack of english language skills of some of the divemasters in training giving the briefs. This produced then confusion which was not helpful for the dives because some of them were very challenging due to medium to strong current. The boats were overbooked so that there was not always seating for all passengers on the benches. We were glad to have a nice Divamaster cadidate (johan) who helped us out. But the whole setting didn't give us a comfortable feeling. Because we had a liveboard experience planned, i asked if it would be possible to lend the two net-bags for our own eqipment for that time on the liveaboard - but this was denied by Kevin - who didn't even bother to inform us by himself while we were waiting at the dive center reception for more than two hours for him. I also wanted to speak to him about the issues of this experience but he semmed not to be interested. So to summarize our impression: Komodo Dragon Dive Center would be a nice setting, but the attude and lack of interest of the manager into his clients made this very dissapointing experience in a amazing diving location. Management of course is also about money, but this will work only with happy and satisfied customers. Therefor - and I am sorry for some of the nice staff working there - I am not recommending this Dive Center for its lack of interest into its customers, the sometimes overbooked dive trips and the sensitive issue of pncomprhensible dive briefings for soemetimes challenging dive sites.

My friend and I made a reservation at this hotel. The receptionists were not very friendly and showed us our room. It was very dark, no windows (windows completely covered with black foil) and smelled bad. We really did not feel comfortable in this room, and therefore asked for another room. Unfortunately, the owners were absolutely unaccomodating, which is why we decided to cancel our reservation and went to another hotel for less money and a much better service and room. We cannot recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a great atmosphere. Well decorated. Staff is super friendly and goed out of their way to help you with whatever you need. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is great, especially the French breakfast. Had that 5 times, consistently good. Although breakfast for divers is a lot different and less! Very convenient that it you can sleep and dive at the same place. That said, there are a few flaws that did have a negative effect on our stay and would not choose this place again. First I think is the fact that we dove at the same spots 2 days in a row. They were unable to put us on a different boat. Bit of a bummer since it's not cheap. Second we had the Marlin room, right underneath the restaurant (there are 2 other rooms there as well). Divers have breakfast at 6am and this is the time you will also be awake because of moving chairs and tables. This room is also right in front of the dive/relax area. People gather hear at 6.45am, chat, smoke etc before they leave. Smoking is seriously done everywhere! Wherever you sit on the patio you smell the ash tray or the bin. There is also the constant music. Yes it gives it a 'cool vibe' but you can't get away from it since you hear it clearly in the room. There is no need for it all day, since there is no one there. Luckily this stops around 10pm. Also food at the restaurant is great but is not always available. I had lunch there for a few times and many items or ingredients were not available. I had breakfast at 8am daily and they still needed to clean 6am divers breakfast. There was also one party night, not great when you sleep right underneath it. Next morning the restaurant was a mess! Cigarette ash, butts, matches and napkins everywhere, dirty tables, cushions everywhere! It takes 5 min to sweep the place, should have been done by 8.30am. The restaurant does lack cleanliness, the rest of the hotel is seriously spotless.

Everything about this hotel is amazing, the location is perfect, the restaurant was top notch, rooms are nice and clean, and the staff is outstanding. Felix at the front desk was awesome. It was great to stay right near the harbour away from super touristy areas. Will be back again soon!!

Our stay in dragon dive komodo was perfect !! First for the stay, the place is really nice, they have a very good restaurant. A nice bar next to a nice swimming pool, and a lot of places to chill. Rooms are clean and very comfortable, the best bed we actually had in Indonesia. It also has a good localisation. All the peoples that work there are really welcoming, smiling and very nice. They all took a good care of us !! Then, the diving experience was amazing! We did 4 full dive days with them, and we won’t forget it. The boat is really cosy, the food served on the boat is great, and all our diving’s guides were so nice and very professionals. We highly recommend this place for the dive and the stay. We will come back for sure !!

The owners are very professional, friendly and fun guys. Me and my boyfriend stay 2 nights at the hotel, did the giving practice during the first day at the swimming in the hotel and 3 dives the day after at komodo park. Unfortunately we didnt see any mantas that as i absolute goal for the day. Over all very recommended place with good, chill vibes. We had a great time :)
