Sylvia Hotel & Resort Komodo

We came to this place by the suggestion of our friends who wear staying here 2 times. But it was last year. So I guess now something changed. The personal was terrible rude. 1. We came around 9 am, they said room is not ready come around noon. We came 2-3pm. They said the room are ready; so we(me and my wife) went there so tired and hungry wanted to take shower and go to the restaurant. I went to shower and after I couldn’t find any towel. So all wet I put my clothes on and went out to look for towels while my wife taking shower. (2).I found one worker outside and called him: Hello sir. He made a gesture with his hand as if for an animal: You come here! I didn’t react on it: just asked can we have a towel? He said I’ll call to the reception. Then we wait about 5 minutes no towels! Then I I found the phone and call by myself again: They said we will bring. We wait about 5 minutes more. Then my wife said I’m cold already bring anything, and I gave her towel for the floor and feet, coz it was only towel I found. In the end they didn’t bring it. I found the guy in the garden and asked him, he was really kind and after he heard we wait 20 minutes for it, he went and bring it finally. 3. We went to restaurant to eat . After 20 minutes it gets hot inside so we went outside, there was all tables free, we sit in one. Straight one lady came in rush and said: You can’t sit here , it’s only for guests! Like whaaat? 🤬 That was EPIC! My wife said: We are guests!!! She said: Oh sorry it’s reserved! We didn’t move because it was to crazy, saying this to the customers. And 4. Until 10 pm was so loud music in the restaurant, so people can’t sleep 😴 and often people stay there day before trip to Komodo, so have to wake up so early. Have to mark one guy who was good and nice, his name: Deni. If you guide or taxi, ask him. P.S. after couple hours I went outside to see for who it was reserved and there is not even 1 person 😅 down there 👇🏻 this picture. So in the end we only liked beach and sunset’s in this hotel.

Overall good place to stay. The breakfast wasn't amazing but the location and service was very good. I would recommend this place to stay but would rent a moped or car so can access the local town.

I had a lovely stay at the Sylvia Resort. The staff were friendly and helpful when my room card did not work. My room was very comfortable and right on the beach and also close to the restaurant. The Restaurant is open 24/7, but I think they can improve the quality of their food. The calamari was tough and overcooked. My friends ordered different dishes, but it all looked the same.

You sometimes have to remind oneself that Sylvia Resort is only a 3 ⭐️ hotel. The location and the service are 5 ⭐️ but if you look closer the overall upkeep of the hotel has been affected. They are in the middle of renovations but it was never noisy in fact it was the most peaceful place I’ve stayed so far. The bay is so serene dotted with a few sail boats. Both the sea and pool are lovely to choose from. Not a lot of sun beds on the beach though and some need repairs. It was fully booked when I arrived and I managed to pay for a room with a sea view for my last night but they were kind enough to upgrade my stay for my last night to the ocean bungalow which is fabulous! I’ve already recommended it to friends and family and would definitely come back here in the future!

A quaint little hotel next to the place we had to go to for work I would definitely stay here again and the price was very good

The resort is located perfectly in a rather quiet but beautiful bay. it consist of a hogel building, garden bungalows and a long stretch of beach side bungalows. the renovated bungalows are actually simple but nicely designed and have super comfortable beds and the perfect biew of beach row. The breakfast room and restaurant terrace are decent, but the service in the restaurant is slow and they often forget ordered meals or eggs, which is frustrating. Staff is super friendly though. The pools are small, but in good conditions. Unfortunately there is no gym anymore and some of the bungalows seem to have been in disuse for a while and need a makeover. however, for the location and the price I would recommend Sylvia Hotel and Resorts

Great location friendly staff resort a bit tired but renovations under way recommend- it is 5km from the main part of labaun bajo so scooter or taxi required if you want to get to town
