La Posta Vecchia was everything we hoped for and more, and is a true gem within touching distance of Rome. The hotel oozes old school elegance, and delivers the perfect “home from home” experience. There are too many unique features of the property to mention them all in one review, but the museum beneath the hotel summed up how interesting the history of the hotel is for guests. The hotel has just 19 rooms and suites, giving a very personal feel and the staff more than delivered. The food is everything you expect of a Michelin Star restaurant, and breakfast location overlooking the sea is perfect. My only thing to highlight would be the location- the hotel is not in a popular tourist area, and for us the time was best spent within the confines of the property- which has a beautiful pool, tennis court and gym alongside the other amenities you might expect.

We loved everything about La Posta Vecchia - stunning location, beautiful venue, amazing food, wonderful spa services and great staff. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation and you'd like to be pampered, this is the place for you. A big plus: the hotel is dog friendly and our Mela was treated like a queen. We will certainly go back!

It is now a very special hotel with a limited number of rooms and is associated with the Leading Hotels of the World brand. We stayed at this absolutely special place in late September when the weather was perfect. The setting right on the Tyrrhenian sea is extraordinary and has been a vacation destination since the time of the romans. La Posta Vecchia was originally built in the 17th century and updated by J. Paul Getty in the 60s when it served as his personal home. It unlike any place we have ever stayed, and the extraordinary staff, food and easy access to central Italy made it one of the most relaxing destinations ever. We did day trips through Italy but were always ready to return for a swim and such wonderful food that we never wanted to dine elsewhere. incredibly special place.

This hotel is not cheap, but it is a wonderful place to relax. Just sitting on the seaside terrace and looking at the sea is about the most calming thing you can imagine. The ambience is wonderful and elegant. There are many items of furniture and decor that you might find in a museum. When you stay here, it really feels like you are guests in a well kept noble estate from another century. The bar is wonderful and open very late. When we were there, there was even a pianist nearby playing lovely pieces by Chopin. The in-house restaurant is top quality, and the morning breakfast is the best I have seen anywhere in Italy. We got one of the cheaper rooms, but it was very well appointed, and we had a lovely time. We were only here a single night, and wish we could have had another day or two. Due to its proximity to Fiumicino airport, we will definitely consider it next time we fly through Rome.

Difficult to rate a hotel like LPV given there are very few comparables - the property is historic in every sense so you need to manage your expectations on modernity (the rooms do feel like ur staying in a castle!), the staff are generally warm, and location is 40 minutes or so from Rome’s airport. I think overall the value proposition was okay.

Wonderful views, rooms and food was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Only complaint is that dining staff was inattentive at times.

We enjoyed our stay very much in this lovely place with very helpful and attentive staff. We loved sunset on the terrace overlooking the sea and the breakfast in the dining room was very special with a very good selection of food and very attentive service from the staff. Thank you very much to the very helpful manager, who showed us the Roman remains and was very informative and helpful throughout our stay.

Fantastic property. In some areas a bit of renovation would help the overall feeling but still an excellent property. The restaurant has a great ambiance especially the evening dinner. Food and service was also very good.
