Hyatt Vacation Club at Ka'Anapali Beach

First time staying here, and it was better than expected. We were in a two bedroom. Super friendly valet and check in, and the first impression when we entered the room - incredible ocean view from a large lanai. This was gorgeous. Then master bedroom and attached super nice master bathroom. Living room with kitchen and dining. Second bedroom with another bathroom. A lot of space for a family to spread out. Nice grounds with pools and bbq grills, and of course the beach and the ocean. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The only negative is the price can be very high if booking with Hyatt, but if renting from an owner it's much more reasonable.

The good: 1-Great pool that our kids loved. Fun small waterslide here and a big one over at the Hyatt hotel you can go use. The pool over at the Hyatt Regency is still under construction but should be really cool when it is all done. The pool water temp is great. 2- Lots of great families with young kids. Ours made lots of friends and had a blast. 3- Rooms are modern and clean with large oceanfront patios. 4- The food at the tiki bar near the pool was really good. 5- Valet staff and pool staff was all super nice and helpful The not so good: 1-The beach is very small here. We just came from Wailea so the beach was little disappointing after being over there. 2-We were annoyed by the check in process. We were informed our room was ready so to go up and wait for our luggage to arrive. So we went up around 3:30. We called down several times to check on the status of our luggage and were always told it was on the way and would be there soon. We even called and asked if could just come down and get it so we wouldn't spend the whole afternoon in the room. We were assured that it was on the way. The luggage finally came around 5:00. I realize it's a busy time because everyone checks in on the same day but no one wants to spend an entire afternoon of vacation sitting in the room waiting for their luggage to come. Maybe have a system where you get a text when your room is ready and then another when your luggage is actually on the way up to the room. Overall we had an awesome stay and would definitely return.

Enjoyed a two week stay at this beautiful resort. The lobby, grounds & pool area were truly lovely and kept very clean. We rented a one-bedroom ocean view, and it was simply awesome. We especially loved the large lanai, and it became our favorite place to hang out in the morning and evening hours just enjoying the view. Yes, the beach area is sadly slowly fading away but there are many great beach areas close by. We liked the fact this resort had less people around due to being slightly smaller and it really felt more special. This was a bonus. They had a lot of different daily activities you could participate in too. A really wonderful staff who helped us whenever we needed it. A shout out and thank you to Justin who offered us a review of our unit when he delivered our luggage since we had never stayed there before. We declined the weekly room cleaning offering and just texted when we needed anything, and items were always promptly delivered. The valet car service was super handy also. One hiccup at checkout was that we had been charged for a buffet breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Hotel next door and that was not ours, so it was credited back to us so DO check your bill before leaving. Also, during our 2nd week there, the people staying in the unit next to ours thought it was ok to feed the birds every day and I mean FEED THE BIRDS as their lanai was covered in food! The birds were much more aggressive on our lanai that week too as we were so close by being right next door and the birds left a lot more droppings everywhere. The cleaning staff would have more work to clean the lanai because of this for sure. The birds come around to say hi without having to feed them. HVC should remind guests not to do this. We did not have this problem at all during our first week. We also appreciated that you could donate any non-perishable food to the local foodbank and the resort took care of this. Thank you. I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt Regency many times and decided to try the Vacation club. I had some World of Hyatt points to use and the rooms and view looked amazing. I have to say, when traveling with a family I would hands down choose the Vacation Club over the Regency having been to both. The rooms at the Vacation club are large, 2 bedroom & 3 bedroom units with 2 bathrooms and a huge balcony. Sometimes you can feel a bit crammed at the Regency with rambunctious young boys. Lucky for us, I did not realize the Regency was undergoing a major pool renovation and most of the pool was closed. That is often a big selling point- all the water caves are so fun for the kids. (mine are 5 and 8) We stayed at the Vacation club pools the entire time and they were amazing as well and made for a great few days. Highly, Highly recommend!

Can confirm roaches. Went to sink in kitchenette at 1 am. Found 4 roaches in sink and cabinet underneath sink. This is completely unacceptable. This is the first time I have ever seen this in 30 years of coming to this resort, but other guests have written reviews about it as well.

We've just returned from a wonderful week at this beautiful resort. In spite of all of the naysayers who warned against traveling to West Maui after the tragic fire last August, we found nothing but warm greetings, hospitable and friendly staff, and absolutely perfect weather. This was our second visit to the resort, but the first with a unit overlooking the ocean and the beautiful grounds. Hyatt nailed it when they built this facility ten years ago, and it is aging extremely well. We brought friends who'd never been to Hawaii before and had a great time seeing Maui through their eyes--and we treated them to experiences that are quintessentially Hawaiian, including the Drums of the Pacific luau next door at the Hyatt Regency, a whale-watching cruise, and lots of great food. Our unit was beautifully appointed with comfortable beds, a fully-equipped kitchen, en suite laundry facilities, and a wonderful balcony where we enjoyed whale-watching, and some beautiful sunsets. The resort is short walk from Whalers Village--and in spite of the recent downturn in tourist traffic to Maui, the shopping and dining center seems to be going strong.
