Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

I had a really great stay here. I was in building 4, which is really close to the food court. The room was very nicely decorated and very clean. Housekeeping is every other day, but I personally don't need more than that. The mattresses were very comfortable. It might not be the biggest and fanciest room you can get at Disney, but I felt at home in my room. The bathroom area has 2 sinks outside the room with the tub/toilet. The sink area has a curtain you can close for privacy from the bed area. The room with the tub is a bit tight though - something to note for parents with kids that need help in the bathroom. I loved the scent of the toiletries and I liked that the shampoo was in dispensers in the tub - it's much easier than trying to squeeze the shampoo out of those mini containers and get the cap back on with one hand. I also found there to be a nice amount of storage, between shelves and dressers. Having seen other reviews about the fridge temperature, I brought my fridge thermometer from home. My fridge stayed between 33 and 38 degrees the whole week. My milk actually froze solid. I had an instacart delivery from Publix, which was accepted by bellhop, and it was easy to get from them. I also felt welcomed by the personal message on the tv when I arrived, though as others have noted, channels are very limited. However, you can cast from your phone to the room tv if have chromecast. My room also had Hey Disney, but I didn't use it because I wanted to disconnect from technology as much as possible. The air conditioning also worked well and was easily controlled from the digital thermostat. The room was overall quiet. Note, though, that if you have kids that go to bed before 10, a few nights a week there's an outdoor movie screening on the lawn from 8:30-10:00 right across from building 4. It's loud enough that it could make it hard to sleep. I really enjoyed the pool. The water temperature was comfortable, and the theming and slide are fun. The grounds are also very beautiful. I had dinner in the food court twice. The food choices aren't endless and are the same every day, but there is something for everyone. Choices are things like pizza/chicken *****s, a few New Orleans-themed options, and some entrees like salmon/chicken/beef stew. There are also some grab and go options. Once I had the cilantro salmon with the garlic-marinated broccoli and roasted vegetables. It was delicious. Another night I also had the kids chicken and pasta with marinara, which wasn't fancy, but it was good. On my final morning I had the kids mickey waffles and the adult side of scrambled eggs, which were both great. The staff also made me feel special throughout my stay. They all wished me a happy birthday and were very friendly and helpful. My magic band fell off somewhere when I went to Universal, and the hotel staff here helped me disconnect my lost band from my account and set up a card ticket for me so it was ready to go in my a

Everything you could want out of a resort. Great rooms, great food, great atmosphere. The pool has events for kids and a slide and a fun theme. It's along a canal which takes you to Downtown Disney, or Disney Springs now, and is just a beautiful area. There's an arcade and just like every staff member in Disney World, they are very courteous and will help when needed. The housekeeping is great but I miss the little towel animals they'd leave on the beds. My favorite resort in Disney World and I have not one negative thing to say about it.

Loved our stay here and everything was perfect. We checked in, and the lady handling our check in helped me to check in on a gift that a friend of ours sent to my husband for his birthday. Unfortunately, we were given the wrong room initially, but they corrected RIGHT away. Our room was perfect. Comfy bed. Loved the personalization. The gift for my husband had been delivered as well. Loved the pool area and the arcade, which was great for rainy days. Loved the jazz club, drinks were good and the staff was fantastic. The little beignet shop was super cute. The details to everything. was fabulous and while I've never been to New Orleans, I imagine this is what it's like. I also thought the activities on site were very thoughtful. They were an outdoor movie in the courtyard one night, and did a marshmallow roast another night. The only thing we didn't love was the breakfast at Sassagoula. The eggs tasted like powdered or boxed and the potato barrels tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp, and were just dried out. Luckily, I had gotten a bunch of fresh fruit too. Other than the breakfast, everything else about our stay was fantastic. I would like to stay here again, but my husband is interested in checking out the other properties.

The staff were nice, the resort looks beautiful, it's easily walkable, and the rooms feel very homey. However, I was greatly disappointed that the boats and the pool were both closed. The boats were because of water levels due to lack of rain, which is of course something that can't be controlled. But the pool was closed for renovation for the first quarter of the year, and I expected it to be open for my stay, only to find out it was now closed for unexpected maintenance. Two key amenities of this resort were out of order, and all the resort could say was "we got shuttle buses to Riverside and Disney Springs." I tried emailing Disney about this seeing if there was anything they could do to make up for the lack of these two perks, but Disney guest services just said take it up with the front desk for extra assistance. Doesn't make me want to stay on Disney property again despite all the good things I could say about Port Orleans. I could've stayed at Pop Century or another resort off property and it may not have been too much different from what I got here.

This was our third stay at this resort. While we have loved it in the past they closed the pool due to a maintenance issue which was just terrible. No communication until the second day. So the whole reason we chose this one was just….gone. People smoked outside our room window the first 3 days. This is a non smoking resort…even outdoors. We called several times because the smoke was coming in our room but nothing was done because THEY didn’t see her doing it. We couldn’t move rooms due to availability. I just think management could’ve done more to compensate. We won’t stay here again.

Would be 5 stars — but I am covered in some pretty nasty bites that might be bed bugs, and I’m having trouble getting answers from the resort. The review will focus on that until I resolve this issue. The room was not very clean. Heavy levels of dust built up behind the headboards, under the beds, AC unit, behind and under other furniture. This seems conducive to bug breeding.

March 2024 Birthday getaway was wonderful and we are returning guests. This time we had a room facing the Sassagoula River. We love the New Orleans style atmosphere of The French Quarter. All of the staff were amazing from the welcome staff, food service, room staff and everyone who made my birthday special. We are Florida Residents and did enjoy the 30% room discount. I even received flowers delivered to the room by Disney Magic. Thanks to everyone at The French Quarter for making my birthday magical at The Happiest Place on Earth.

We absolutely loved this hotel and it makes it very hard to stay in another onsite when we have experienced this hotel. Disney doesn’t have to feel huge and packed with people. The hotel was easy to navigate around and you never felt you were too far from any amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food in the food court is fine. Normal fair. We bought resort mugs which were so handy for our 10 night stay, certainly worth the money. We loved the pool and the water slide was a big hit for our kids. We used the laundry facilities, very handy to have and also easy to drop your clothes off and have the site on your phone which tells you when to come back for them. The resort itself is clean and at night with lights on and jazz playing it is beautiful to walk around. Rooms are larger than I expected and it’s very helpful to have space under the bed for suitcases. It frees up floor space in the room. Beds are comfy and Disney does the little touches really well. Housekeeping were super. All round perfect hotel and we can not wait to visit again.

Amazing stay in the magic to celebrate our little mouseketeers first birthday. We stayed in building 5 which was super close to reception/restaraunt and bus stop. From the moment we arrived until we left we had some amazing interactions with the wonderful cast members, all were so friendly and kind. The pool onsite was closed for refurbishment during our 2 week stay however we were aware of this and made use of riverside instead. Im sure itll be amazing once the refurb is complete. The grounds around the hotel were immaculately kept with nothing ever out of place. We stayed in a garden view room which was perfect although a little lacking in storage which meant we utilised the 2nd double bed for suitcases during our stay. We had an amazing time and are already looking at returning sometime in the near future to this resort. Buses can get a little busy near park opening times however like most things in Disney are well organised and usually another bus isnt far away if you cant get on the first one.
