Hotel Iselmar

Superleuk hotel met veel voorzieningen, heerlijk om met de kinderen er even tussenuit te gaan. Heerlijk bowlen en zwemmen en mooie balkon met prima uitzicht. Kamers helaas een beetje out-dated. Is toe aan onderhoud maar ondanks dit een superhotel en heel vriendelijk personeel.

Alles prima

Realy the place is so amazing , everything is easy to be processed. The most wonderful thing is the lovely staff that they have , specially the manager , Ms.Paulien, Ms.Liesbeth and Ms Amber . They are so kind and helpful. We are so lucky to find such generous people in this hotel . Because of the inviroment and the lovely staff we will definitely will come back again because it is great and clean place . Ms.Poulien every where you can fund her being a manger we ve seen her helping the other staff in breakfast and other staff . A big appreciation to her and her kind help . Words to the owner you are so lucky to have her with your team as well as others staff .

On arrival we were made to feel as intruders not paying guests. We could not remember if we had made a booking in the restaurant so this caused a problem. Later we found our email that told us we had made a reservation. When we told the receptionist this she was unapologetic and less than helpful. We went through to the restaurant and were told there was no table available in the main area. They then found one for us. Our waitress was pleasant and said they were suffering staff shortages but the male waiter was downright unpleasant and unprofessional. We pointed out an available table which he said was reserved. By us, we said but no he would not let us have it. There were 3 tables for 2 people available all the time we were eating! The food was average and the rest was noisy. We will not return here.

Having become accustomed to great customer service throughout the Netherlands our arrival here was marred by the frosty receptionist . We had arrived by bicycle for one night as part of our tour and on checkin we were told that the restaurant was fully booked and asked in a somewhat condescending manner ‘have you not made an advance reservation?’. Having not logged into the hotels WiFi I couldn’t honestly recall. The unhelpful receptionist suggested I speak with her colleague in the restaurant. This I did, he couldn’t find a reservation for us either. However he did say he would have a table free for 8pm so we reserved that. Had the weather been fine we would have ridden back into Lemmer! The hotel is about 2km out of the town. After a shower I discovered we had indeed made a reservation and showed the receptionist the confirmation email from her colleague Chantel. I was then given a story that all guests are sent an email informing them that just because they have made a dinner reservation does not guarantee it! Really? An apology would have been so much more well received! The irony being that ‘Chantel’ informed us that we’d have to dine at six rather than seven due to staff shortages! We then went to the restaurant where it could be seen that there were two tables free which the unhelpful and defensive head waiter informed us were pre-booked. We were seated in what can best be described as the corridor. However, within a few minutes a further table became free and we were invited to take that. The meal itself was OK but honestly you could pay less for better food (and service) elsewhere. By the time we had finished our meal the two “Reserved” tables still remained unoccupied. Our room was fine but how this hotel can claim to be 4* is beyond me. We certainly won’t be back.

Super breakfast. A lot of choices and nice environment. Understaffed but still trying to give a good service. The restaurant is also okay. The hotel needs some maintenance and refurbishment. Our room did not have airco and was very warm to sleep. Opening window was not an option because of Mosquitos and neighbours that could easy enter. The water tap in the bathroom was difficult to adjust = broken.

Dining room not open Sunday and Monday but didn’t realise bar would also be shut. Local restaurant serves good food but doesn’t take any credit cards

Heel relaxed

The iselmar Hotel in Lemmer doesn’t have competition. That’s why they are not challenged by their owner. Today during the check in, I need to pay first as they knew that I will not get my booked room. Surprised to get a very dirty room. Toilet was still obviously not cleaned as it was looking like after a week used toilet without cleaning. Even the floor shows signs of Urin. The smells in the room itself was like a station toilet. A mixture of urin and smoke. I was most upset about the receptionist, maybe she got a bad day but if she don’t like her job, she should better not work in the business where you have contact to customers. The pictures shows the room after cleaning which they did in 2 minutes. If I would be the owner or investor of the hotel, I knew what I would do first to solve problems in their quality management.
