Koala Shores Holiday Park

Is a great little spot near nelson bay area for a budget, BUT if you book at counter ensure they quote right price, was quoted and paid for what they said and after we left they charged more as they to my card because of their mistake and I had to dispute with bank to get money back. Make sure to document everything Only reason i was able to ge**y funds back. I won't be back

The location was lovely and the pool was beautiful (unfortunately it was closed for maintenance on the day of our arrival). The lady who checked us in was friendly. The room itself was average at best. The fittings are in dire need of repair/replacement. Things like missing light globes, ants coming in through the wall, numerous small spiders on the ceiling and an exhaust fan in the bathroom which must have been at least thirty years old and didn’t appear to have been cleaned in that time were all disappointing. Hot water was limited, there were no regular channels on the TV and wifi was hit and miss. Our room was supposedly ‘superior’ but at $950 for two nights stay and in a room we really didn’t feel comfortable in at all, I don’t think represented good value at all. For people who are only in their room to shower and sleep, it might be OK but we were very glad to get home.

There were cockroaches in the bathrooms, spiders throughout the cabin. Dead insects falling from the light fittings onto the bedding. Considering the price per night I would have expected a much more cleaner cabin and facilities. Would not stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful view from our villa, which was clean and beds very comfortable. Great for kids. Thank you for a terrific stay.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids. Overall it wasn't a bad place to stay, but were just disappointed with a fee small things. We stayed in a cabin which was enough for us. We had a portacot for my 1 year old which we (just) fit into our room, and our almost 4 year old slept in the bunks. Very basic kitchen and utensils but was enough for us. Room has a nice big fridge and the shower was nice and hot with a good amount of pressure. There were a few things that could've been fixed to make me give it a 4 or 5 star rating. The shower was quite dirty, the screen door into the cabin was broken, not even on the rail and quite hard to open to get in to the glass door. The blind cord in the room was not attached to the windowsill which is dangerous with young kids. There was also a broken floorboard on the deck that was broken, and the lounge had a huge lump in one of the pillows so it wasn't able to be sat on. Apart from that, it was relatively clean, has a TV and WiFi included. The pool is amazing, and the kids loved the jumping castle. There's 2 small playgrounds which are probably better suited to older kids and are a little old. There is a communication kitchen with a couple of vending machines and claw games in it. We didn't use the tennis court or mini golf but those are available and free for guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay, it was just a shame about the couple of issues with the cabin.

The view was serene and peaceful. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy. Definitely coming back here again.

Nice neat little cabins. Beds were clean and comfy. Check in was easy even though we arrived alot later then planned due to traffic. Walking distance to lake and great little fishing spots. Needs an onsite cafe or restaurant, food options close by are very limited.

Excellent service, location, fishing, camping and an overall beautiful quiet spot to stay. I loved the hospitality and friendly a**osphere the park had to offer. Our unit was a little worn and tired but other than that I had everything I needed. I rate it a 91/2 out of 10. Would most definitely recommend this park and I would stay there again.
