Lochgair Hotel

As widely travelled septuagenarians, we have long recognised the benefits of family run accommodation over chains. Lochgair did not disappoint. Friendly welcome and staff. Good home cooked food, comfortable bed. We had a happy three night stay and would return.

Hello, on my way to visit the region with the family. Rented 2 bedrooms. Our room was nice and clean. Same for the bathroom with bathtub. Pleasant bedding. Really a nice surprise. Despite the nearby road, little noise. The dinner eaten there was completely honest. the same for breakfast. Pleasant and attentive boss. Don't be fooled by the exterior appearance. It was really a pleasant surprise.

My 150th TripAdvisor review and thankfully it’s a positive one! Busy up in Scotland on a Netflix TV production with location filming at Inveraray Castle and booked into room 11 at the Lochgair Hotel near Lochgilphead. I rather enjoyed my stay at this rather quirky family run hotel. I couldn’t fault the place for upkeep of the bedroom with en suite, beds are made daily, room hoovered, teasmade goodies replenished, toilet rolls replaced etc etc etc Unfortunately I never got to try a cooked breakfast as I was away at 0600 every morning, but there was a selection of cereals, fruit, and yoghurts and bread for toast. Evening meals served at the hotel are decent enough, there’s a small selection of starters, mains and even a vegan/vegetarian option available, I had the homemade spaghetti bolognaise one evening which I really enjoyed but beware the jalapeño with cheese bites, these things are like volcanic lava. On the whole the Lochgair hotel is what it is, a family run hotel offering warm, clean rooms with en suite and homemade food during the allocated dinings hours.
