Slap bang in the middle of Louth, rhe only downside is the slight walk to the car park, but ro be honest it would only be an issue if it was raining. Easy check in, and the room itself was spotlessly clean with a huge, comfortable bed. The sausage sandwich I had for breakfast was excellent too.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending the superbikes at cadwell park . Comfortable and friendly and situated in a great location near to bars ,pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was included and was very good . Would highly recommend this hotel ,we will definitely return .

An event organised in advance which was well orchestrated on the day with no drama. Worked like clockwork. A very happy 90 year old with satisfied guests. A friendly ambiance throughout the stay from all staff. Good venue in the large room upstairs. Nothing too much trouble. Food excellent, tasty, and plentiful as remarked by all guests and a good breakfast choice for all who stayed over. Catered for all dietary requests. Overnight accommodation very clean tidy and tasteful with tea and coffee facilities. Car parking included with the room booking which is 5 minutes away. Highly recommended.

A great atmosphere and fantastic staff, the service was brilliant with no fault and the food is amazing as per usual with the masons arms. I’d also like to just give a mention to the manager Rowena, she was brilliant and very attentive when it came to our table great service

Nice spacious room with comfortable bed. Great location, but parking is blocks away. Needed a fan-heater brought up because room heat didn't work all the time. Very friendly staff. Excellent afternoon tea in the dining room. Good breakfasts. Room 8 hears lots of noise at night from cafes down in the lower courtyard.

Disappointed didn’t have green milk for my coffee when they said they did. And the soup that was on the menu, wasn’t the soup of the day of which changed twice and waited about 30 minutes for this to come with a teacake

What a great little hotel. As this is on a pedestrianised street, there is no parking directly at the hotel BUT, a few days ahead of our stay I contacted the hotel to see which car park would be most suitable to park in & preferably, a free one. No problem at all! The hotel got straight back to me to give me the postcode of the nearest one to them & told me if I rang as we were on approach then they would programme our registration number into their parking system & we could park completely free, with no need to put anything on the car windscreen. This we did with ease & although the weather was awful when we arrived, it was literally 2 minutes round the corner to the hotel so we hardly got wet either. On arrival we were checked in swiftly & on entering our room, were very pleased. The room had been booked as a gift so we had no idea what to expect but it was wonderful. Small & compact but very well thoughtout to make the most of the space & everything we could possibly want was there. The bed was wonderful, soft pillows that felt like sleeping on a cloud, comfy mattress & a perfect tog quilt. Breakfast was served between 8:30 & 10:00 so no need to rush up & check out was at a leisurely 11:00. We only stayed the one night as we were on a night out with friends but we felt like we'd had a mini break by the time we left. Absolutely, without doubt, we will return.

Staff are 1st class. A really lovely small hotel . I must mention Rowena & Ben who were chatty, professional & both had great people skills ! Highly recommended. The rooms are quickly and furnished beautifully. It was really hot when we stayed and extra fans weee provided.

Can't work out whether I love or hate this place. Whilst I had a reasonably good visit, I spotted lots of niggling things which shouldn't be present in a good hotel. Good - rooms and restaurant really clean and well decorated, staff really friendly and helpful, great position in center of Louth, bedroom comfortable. Bad - strange opening times for a hotel, bar only open for functions, had to ask for everything eg extra coffee pods (selection of colours but no indication what was in each)/ extra toast/drinks at breakfast (which was average), poor breakfast selection compared to most hotels. Wood floor in restaaurant badly scratched through lack of attention. Ugly - fridge in room didn't work, big stains on carpets outside bar, cleaning restaurant whilst customers coming in for breakfast, trailing wires on stairs whilst cleaning as customers coming down for breakfast, formica top peeling in bedroom. Whilst well place it overlooks market and because it is single glazed market set up at 0600 is very noisy. This place has great potential and lots of the niggles are easily and cheaply fixed so come on guys you could have a really good Hotel with a bit of effort.
