Le Beau Rivage

Staff were responsive before our visit when we got in touch. They were all friendly and welcoming. We arrived late after a long day travelling and the room was cosy and comfortable. Breakfast with fresh, local produce and in a great locataion. I hope we can go back some time.

Nice hotel in a nice little seafront town. Ideal for the ferry from Caen. Only gripe was windows not particularly safe for small children.

Lovely staff- owners. Room was clean, bathroom had awesome shower. The view was amazing.

Only stayed for the one night wish we had more time there, Fantastic position with commanding sea views. Beautifully furnished and very clean. Full of little wonderful touches that really made our stay lovely. Great hosts and a wonderful breakfast in the morning with some amazing bread choices.

I have stayed at this hotel many times before but the ownership has now changed to Caroline and Yann. It is in the process of having a much improved refurbishment and the friendliness of the new owners is evident from the moment I arrived with my family to visit many of the D-Day areas between 3 and 7 June. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the breakfast, whilst good, was very basic. This is not a problem. We ate in the hotel for the first evening and the food was very good. The rooms are relatively small but this is ideal as most of the time spent in the bedroom is sleeping time! The hotel is situated almost on Sword Beach so is a perfect base for the D-Day touring. I shall be back with my group of 5 men in 2024 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day and greatly look forward to seeing Caroline and Yann again. Thanks to them for their excellent hospitality and my family wish them well in their new venture..

Lovely, modern room renovation. Hotel is in a beautiful location on the sea, which is readily accessible. Parking is on the street if spots are available.

We had a great stay at the Le Beau Rivage. The hotel is located right at the beach front with a splendid view to the sea. The room was small, but nice and clean. The sea breeze made it out as a natural A/C, however it did not completely manage to keep the room cool. The breakfast was simple, but with a high quality selection. We did not miss anything. Would definitely stay at Le Beau Rivage again!

Cosy room, great breakfast, nice staff. Highly recommended for a nice stay in Luc-sur-Mer!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner. The manager advised us that the restaurant was fully booked. We asked him if he could recommend another restaurant in the area, and he absolutely refused to do so. He said that a number of restaurants in the area were “probably” closed, but would not tell us which ones, nor did he offer to call any others to see if they could accommodate us. In his dealings with us, the manager was, from the beginning, haughty and rude, and made us feel most unwelcome. In short, he personified the stereotype of the supercilious Frenchman. But for his attitude, we would have booked a room for the night. As it was, we couldn’t get out the door fast enough.
