Cartier Mansion

Amazing facility, amazing hosts, amazing time. The communication before our arrival was excellent. Jenna gave us a heads up that the Badger ferry was out of commission before we even checked in so that we could be prepared if we weren’t able to take the ferry. The facility is beautifully restored and maintained. Exquisite taste in all of the furnishings and decorations. Chris and Jenna were kind and friendly hosts and took great care of all our needs. The breakfast served was creatively planned with precision and careful attention to every detail. I would highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast to anyone traveling to Ludington.

The dedication and hard work of the couple who own and manage this beautiful property is inspiring. We had a wonderful three-night stay at this beautifully maintained mansion. Everything we needed was at our fingertips or a short text away. The breakfasts were works of art. Highly recommend.

Amazing visit to Cartier Mansion, as you pull up to this historic building you are wowed with the Grand appearance of this property, old charm welcomes you, I stayed in the King Suite, this is a huge room with master bedroom, en-suite large bathroom with original features and cool vintage shower experience, lounge area which then leads out to a private balcony - just lovely! The breakfast is 5 Star , the Pastry Chef Liz uses local farm produce to create delicious food, I had the Plum Sorbet, fresh fruit smoothie and not your traditional eggs but a great culinary journey. The Owners Chris & Jenna are wonderful, warm welcoming and friendly sharing interesting stories about the history of the property and local area. Great location close to downtown and Marinas and Museums, Loved my stay and will hope to return!

Great experience. Very friendly hosts with lots of history associated with the property. Very responsive to any questions. Clean room, comfortable bed, fire ring in back of property. Breakfast was amazing. We'll be back. Convenient to downtown.

We recently spent a night in the Cartier Mansion B&B in Ludington after seeing a program spotlight it on Under the Radar Michigan, a PBS production. The mansion and it grounds are beautiful and located within walking distance of the downtown stores and restaurants. Guest rooms are located on the second floor, and we stayed in the Carriage Room with a very comfortable king bed, private bathroom, and walk-in shower. The interior is all original 1905 wood trim and cabinetry and is decorated much as I would expect it have been in that time. The main floor has a sitting area, a music room, a dining room for breakfast, and a game room/library. Owners and Inn Keepers Jenna and Chris produced a wonderful breakfast using locally acquired ingredients and items from their own gardens. A special treat was hearing the piano begin playing in the music room at 8am and continuing through breakfast. This was a special place to stay and feel it was well worth the extra cost.

Jenna and Chris have provided an excellent experience for our Ludington visit. Our lovely room was prepared in a very timely manner, all arrival instructions are very clear, their communication process leaves no missing information or questions unanswered. Each space in the mansion is exactly as it appears in the photos and the beds are very VERY comfortable. Thank you.

My only recommendation is allow plenty of time to enjoy the mansion. We arrived in town after 8pm and had to leave by 8am to catch the ferry so we didn't get to savor all the details that have gone into making this place MAGNIFICENT. Our room was so nice (cottage room), and everything we needed was right there. I loved the monogramed chocolates in our room, and the hallway with snacks. I hope to return sooner than later.

Wonderful weekend get away in Ludington. Stayed at the amazing Cartier Mansion Bed and Breakfast downtown. The accomodations were amazing and the breakfast incredible.The homemade cinnamon rolls—a family recipe— were so good! If you’re looking for an overnight escape or just out exploring the state, I highly recommend it! Jenna and Chris Simpler are outstanding hosts and are working so hard to preserve the home’s history! #puremichigan
