Sans Souci Bed and Breakfast Luxe Heated Pool and Restaurant

A very relaxing stay with James and Matthew. The B&B is well appointed with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. The decor is a perfect blend between traditional and modern improvements for the location, a 500 year old house in a small village. Access to the many local attractions is easy and minutes away by car. We did a balloon flight (terrific) which took off from a paddock just behind the B&B. James and Matthew were very gracious hosts, happy to listen to our questions and give advice. As Aussies, they are fluent in English and French. The breakfasts were delicious and the garden was a relaxing location for dinner. We'd love to return to experience the vision the boys have for Sans Souci

EXCELLENT!! We stayed for three nights @ James and Matthews San Souci and we had to say the service and place was superb from the time we arrived to the time we departed. We had booked dinner our first night which was just amazing; so we booked for our last night too! Matthews cooking and James front of house is a wonderful combination, including their knowledge of the area. We choose a suite which was relatively new with a large balcony, which we sat on till dark each night, sipping wine or champagne. Breakfast, not how to explain how amazing - each morning we had a different speciality including French toast, blueberry waffles and lemon butter crepes - astounding quality. Great choice of other breakfast options including cooked eggs, bacon etc. we will most certainly be back! Thanks James and Matthew for an amazing time.

This is a superb B&B. Super friendly but professional hosts, James & Matthew have provided a wonderful, peaceful place in the middle of the Loire. Well appointed rooms with an eye for detail, Comfortable beds and in the Catherine de Medici Suite, a seating area and a private deck all provide for a very comfortable stay. Fantastic homecooked meals by Matthew, great suggestions from James to see local attractions all helped to make a fabulous memorable experience in the Loire. We can highly recommend San Souci B&B.

Absolutely wonderful!! One of those little gems that you hope to find on your travels and leave after one night wishing you had the time to stay longer - much longer! James and Matthew are two Australians, very experienced in the hospitality sector in Sydney, who bought this delightful property and renovated it into a small perfectly formed b'n'b. From the minute we arrived to the time we left we could not have had a better experience and service. Great room, , wonderfully comfortable bed, a selection of excellent cocktails and, to top it all, the most brilliant food cooked by master chef Matthew, not just in the evening but next morning for breakfast too. Scallops with mango as starter, ricotta gnocchi with mushrooms and salmon, chocolate praline macaroon for dessert were all wonderful. Even though this is located very conveniently for visiting the chateaux of the Loire, you would want to visit if it was miles from anywhere. Possibly the only place we have stayed on our travels through France with which we could not find any fault.

Matthew and James, who own and run the B&B, could not have been kinder and together they make Sans Souci one of the most memorable places to stay. The dinner and breakfast, created by top chef, Matthew, were a gastronomical delight, as were the platters served on the evening that the kitchen was closed. Having a top restaurant at a B&B is unusual but a huge bonus, especially when staying in the countryside. The property is immaculate with amazing attention to every detail, both in the well appointed and comfortable bedroom as well as the lounge and dining room and in the tranquil garden. We look forward to another visit to the Sans Souci B&B when we are next in the Loire region. Thanks James & Matthew.

We stayed for 2 nights at Sans Souci B&B and it was perfect! The room is spotless with nice Fragonard shower products. The host were very nice and welcoming, always ready to help and gave good advice about where to go and eat in the area! Dinner at the B&B was amazing ( recommend taking the scallop starter and duck main plate :p) portion of food is big. location is very good, 10 mins to Chenonceau. One last point, the breakfast included was just perfect too!

We’ve had a really nice holiday here. We stayed in the suite with its own private terrace, which has a great view and is fantastic to spend your evenings. Matthew is also a great host, who makes delicious breakfast and has nice tips for things to do in the area. The location is ideal to see all the castles of the Loire valley.

Relaxing and very comfortable B&B. Matthew and James are the most friendliest host and they make your stay very comfortable. The rooms are beautiful decorated and very clean. Breakfast is delicious and there’s a possibility to have snacks in the garden. We had a great time!
