Crystal Sands

We arrived at Male airport and arranged pick up from the hotel and were advised to be at the picket point at 9.30 am. for 10 o'clock boat .We were there at 9.15 am but they said that 10 am boat has engine issues and unable to transfer till 11.30am which is fair but on arriving at the hotel the reception staff said you guys missed the 10 am boat because you were not on time and when we stated that we were 45 minutes earlier at the pick up point the hotel staff went quiet and changed the topic . After hour wait for check-in we were told that the rooms which we booked has some lock issues and they cannot accommodate us in that room and the hotel is full so they are not able to accomodate us in the hotel but they said they can accomodation in their villa which was next door. We agreed thinking that villa would be good but later we realised that the hotel is mostly for the staff to stay and the room was dirty half used toiletries nothing in minibar,towels were literally torn bathroom door was rusted,the shower door was broken TV in the room not working when reported no action they simply stated we are completely booked and we cannot accommodate. Asked for a partial refund as we paid a way lot ,we were completely ignored, and we reported it to the online site, which we booked and on the day of departure the managed came to us and offered us 2 activity as compensation and dinner for one night but we did not accept it as we have already done the activity and vacated. After a week, chase up with the online site we got some refunds, but nothing close to what we should have returned . we have also attached the picture of the room we stayed in. we strongly recommend avoiding this hotel as it is a scam, and the room doesn't even look any close to what they have advertised. Yes, the rooms are close to jetty, but the staff and management and the room are not worthy what you pay for. Kindly avoid this place at any cost.

The staff was so friendly and the hotel was clean and perfect location . It was such an amazing place. We enjoyed so much. The view was perfect You can see the sea directly and they have many activities. The food was good and the hotel near of the markets

We did the half-day excursion with the sharks in this structure, Ravidu, the boy who accompanied us was really very good and patient, making us live a wonderful experience that we will also remember thanks to the photos and videos he took of us with the go pro. I fully recommend it! Thank you Ravidu❤️

I left/forgot my money at the hotel $100 & they have made no attempts to try to get it back to me even while I was still on the island/country. Mentioned I would give feedback they ignored all my messages.They said they would sort it as soon as I left

Very good place and well located!! We chose this hotel for part of our honeymoon, and it was an incredible experience! We stayed on this island for 4 days to see more places in the Maldives and we had a very peaceful and welcoming stay at the hotel. Incredible team in all sectors, super helpful and attentive. Some super funny ones like the breakfast staff lol I would like to especially thank Sajith, the hotel manager. For everything he did for us, he solved our problems wonderfully and took care of us in the best way possible throughout our time there. Best quality person, THANK YOU SAJITH! Despite the rain that was present on most days, unfortunately, we managed to take incredible trips such as Parasailing (I highly recommend it, one of the most incredible experiences of our lives), a jet ride and a kayak paddle for two watching the sunset on an desert island near Maafushi. The shark diving was incredible, we did it with Shamaan, responsible for the hotel's tours, a very good person! Finally, I would like to thank the entire hotel team and say that we really enjoyed it, it was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend it!

Do not come here, they show the best and good picture of the hotel but the reality is it's broken old room where you found tear old bedsheets, towel, all broken furniture with uncomfortable painful bed. As well the food are trickey they repeat same food in different plate which looks like many food but it will be 3-5 dishes in the table. Please be aware before you book because the one they show in picture is not true. The rooms are disappointed please see the room pictures below.

Quaint hotel right by Maafushi Beach. Nice rooms and amenities. Very helpful front desk esp Ms Ruby. WE had good breakfast buffet and tried the dinner too one night. There are bigger hotels with more capacity in Maafushi but I feel Crystal Sands has a more personalized touch. Less crowded so you don't feel put off as if in a packed to rafters hotel. Will be coming again.

The hotel itself has a nice location and looking pretty from outside 😃. Staff were really nice and helpful all the time. Included breakfast is very basic, sometimes we felt like there is nothing to eat so we just had a coffee and piece of bread with butter. It is important to absolutely mention and say, there is an ongoing construction work right next to the hotel. Nobody will tell you, you cannot even see this on any pictures. Well, on small island like this you cannot really consider as hotel’s fault. It is small island. But what we totally didn’t understand why this is selling as city view 😃, there is construction site you are looking at. It’s hard to say when they work, sometimes we heard them working during the night and sometimes was absolutely nothing going on. But what is an absolute disaster is the room and cleanliness. Room is outdated, needs improvements asap. I hate hair from previous clients or torn bedsheets - that’s is my worst nigh**are. This made my holiday wanting to go fast by. On top of that is smell of fraying in a whole hotel including your room once they start doing breakfast. They don’t have any cooker hood to take the smell out of the building.
