Service and hotel was fantastic. Very relaxing and the food was A+++ only negative was a lot of confusion with the final bill. I think it should be more itemised and in Filipino currency not US. Whenever you order food you should be given a bill. You are not really sure if it is accurate. Otherwise I would stay again.

Another fantastic stay at the Manara. It’s been a while due to the pandemic. They have been busy making a lot of expansion and enhancing the place all together, they even added another pool! The ambiance is very chill, it was peaceful and serene. The food was all top notch too, great selections of nice local offerings as well as fine imports.

I wish to commend the management of Philip Ann Resort headed by Donald (Property Manager) and his outstanding team/staff for making our 2 nights and 3 days a very memorable and truly relaxing experience. We had a Japanese guest with us and we requested a nice “seafood boodle fight” setup in the beachfront bamboo raft and Donald made sure that everything is perfectly organized. Afterwards, we had a great time snorkeling and kayaking the whole afternoon and later on enjoyed the stunning sunset. Premises …are quite new with two very nice and large pools facing the ocean plus a hot-tub for which you have to book. The resort looks as good as the photos so we were not disappointed. During our five nights we saw only very few people around the resort and the restaurant even though they were fully booked. They even have a game room with a pool table, PS4 and karaoke system. Food …is good with traditional Filipino dishes, especially the pork sinigang was very good (too fatty meat though). Would be nice with a few non-fast food Western options. Staff …were extremely service minded and made us feel very welcome. All spoke English fluently in addition to Tagalog. Wheat could have been better …not leaving a family with two small kids in 32 degrees at the port for 30 min even though we had made a clear agreement to be picked up …wifi in room 601 was horrible and I had to take a business meeting close to the restaurant …none of the pools had any shade whatsoever Overall we were very happy with our stay and will definitely come back (hopefully to better wifi 😀).

This is a great boutique hotel with spacious villas suitable for our family. The pool is great, happy hour is a blast 4-6pm daily and rooms are comfortable. The ate at their restaurant every night and food was good. During the day we took the boat which cost approx 3k for 4 hours and did island hopping. The stairs in the resort to your room is a challenge so if you have limited mobility then avoid but we had no issue with it.

Checked in: Jan 25, 2021 Time: 9:51 PM Deluxe Room 12hrs Me and my partner checked-in at this hotel late at night since it was the decent one we found near the grand terminal. The room given to us was clean but the floor was really sticky. We remember checking in at around 10pm but I had to call the front desk the next morning (9am) just to make sure I'm not mistaken since they did not provide us any checkout information when we paid for our room. The girl who I spoke to said we checked in at 9pm and they will only allow a 15min grace period for us to pack up and leave right away. I asked how much it will cost for us to have an additional hour so we can eat breakfast but the girl said she is not sure of how and that she will need to call us back. After a few minutes she called back and said we need to pay 180PHP for another hour to spend at the hotel. My partner was the one who answered the call and agreed so that they would let us stay until 10am. They DO NOT SERVE ANY MEALS, only cup noodles and junk food so we had to order food delivery. My partner went down the lobby to get our breakfast from the delivery guy and also spoke to the receptionist to confirm what was our check-in time last night. She was told it was 9:51PM and not 9PM contrary to what she told me when I called. After eating we packed up our things and went down right away so that we no longer need to extend an additional hour on our stay. The receptionist told us we still need to pay 180PHP even though we did not consume the 1hr extension since it was already recorded on their system. I argued but had to pay since we were on a hurry. TLDR: WE WERE ASKED TO PAY FOR AN EXTRA HOUR ON OUR STAY EVEN THOUGH WE CHECKED OUT ON TIME. THEY DO NOT SERVE ANY MEALS. THE STAFF IS NOT FRIENDLY AND PROPERLY TRAINES, EVEN THE GUARD WHO KEPT ON STARING AT US. P.S I HOPE THE MANAGEMENT WILL TAKE ACTION AND TRAIN THEIR PEOPLE TO BE PROFESSIONAL. CUSTOMER RELATIONS NEED IMPROVEMENT. THE RECEPTIONIST IS INCONSIDERATE.

Checked in on the 18th, the environment is very good, the service is very thoughtful, very safe, there are hotel staff guarding the door at night! A special mention is that this restaurant is really great. I recommend going to her house for dinner. I ordered three or four dishes and it was dazzling! (PS On the second day of check-in, I left my phone on the chair by the pool after swimming. When I found out that I was looking for it, the hotel staff just delivered it to the door of the room very enthusiastically. Thank you so much!)

I'd like to graciously comment that to some extent, we had a good and fulfilling stay except for an uncomfortable experience in meeting a few ”defensive” staff of Jack Daniel Apartments. I would kindly suggest that next time, please welcome your guests warmly first before telling it to their face the cost of (e.g.) extra mattress for each night, missing bath towel, etc. I think it's intimidating to confront the guests with ”this and that prices” when they have just arrived. I regret to say that some staff were defensive in their explanation. Another intimidating act was the suggestion of Ms. Jocie for us to book another room with two superior bedrooms, when our booking confirmation stated 4 adults and 4 children. It was just relieving when she finally honoured the Agoda Booking Confirmation, but not after hours of long discussions 😢. Anyhow, I wasn't very glad to pay Php 2,000. for two extra mattresses for our additional two school children; and even this amount is high. We liked the swimming pool and the gardens. The property must have seen long years but well maintained. Despite my experience with a few intimidating staff, I'd like to thank Jack Daniel Apartments.
