Initially we booked 4 nights here with a plan to extend our stay or move on somewhere else. We were a bit concerned with some of the negative reviews but it definitely looked our sort of place - a small property with stunning beachside location that offered a limited facility all-inclusive. Well, we arrived after the 12 hour flight from London to be told they were overbooked and we’d been “upgraded” to their sister hotel, Preskil Island Resort (see separate review). Our brief view of Astroea Beach left us wanting more and so after assurances from Southern Cross that we would not be overbooked again, we decided to spend the remaining 5 nights of our Mauritius holiday here. Accommodation We booked a 2 bedroom bungalow and were allocated 205 which has a direct sea view and easy access to beach. It looks like rooms have been spruced up with comfy, but firm beds and a newish sofa in the lounge. There is a mini bar fridge, included on the all inclusive package (beer and soft drinks topped up daily). The bathroom had a new loo and washbasin but the tiles seem to be have been part painted in emulsion by a small child or visually impaired person. The grouting is pretty grim too. The electric shower is an instant Triton heater so water pressure is compromised . There is no hot water into the bungalow so I had to boil the kettle in order to shave in the wash basin, but this was no real hassle. There was an air conditioner in each bedroom which was effective, albeit noisy. Despite some poor decoration in the bathroom, everything was kept spotlessly clean. Food and Beverage We loved the small, part-open restaurant directly above the beach. Breakfast had a selection of fruit, cereal, pastries, bread etc with a toaster for the bread. There was a bean coffee machine if you wanted something different to the filter coffee and tea was served in a teapot, essential for us Brits. There was a number of hot items for order including great omelettes, eggs, sausage (chicken), bacon and crepes. Lunch was a good choice menu of salads, pasta, burger, fish and paninis. The choice of all-inclusive items was more limited and did not seem to have a logic as to why they were included or not, but we loved the fish “burger” which was actually a large fillet of sea bream. Dinner was 3 courses with a choice of 2 items for each course, which you selected at breakfast time. This was absolutely fine by us and avoided food waste. All food was freshly prepared (with love) and cooked to order from the tiny kitchen, so this could take time, which was absolutely no problem when you had the amazing view and you are on holiday. The all inclusive drinks were good for the price point. The wine was Cape Bay South African which was perfectly OK. Phoenix lager was on draft and there was even large glasses (0.6l). Double measures of spirits were no problem on request and there was a selection of cocktails. You signed for drinks and your meals at the end of each session. Beach and grounds Stu

It was already 8 o'clock in the evening when I arrived in Mauritius. After I finished the formalities, I could see the shuttle at the airport. It took about 5 minutes to get to the hotel. The hotel was clean and soundproof. We were the second. Tianbao had a day trip and walked very early without experiencing the hotel's breakfast and other facilities. It is a good airport transition option.

advantage Located on Blue Bay Beach The hotel has its own Ocean Centre for renting Kayak or participating in Snorkeling, diving and other day tours. The rooms are clean, comfortable, superb views, facing the Blue Bay. After 11:00 check out, you can still enjoy the hotel facilities, including beach towels and punches. (Full Board can still enjoy lunch after check out) Full Board includes 4 meals and drinks all day. Different themed activities every day in the hotel Disadvantage There are black ants in the room, the most serious is a big cockroach in the room. Broken shower by the pool The food is a buffet, the taste is average, the style is different every day, but there are not many choices.

The breakfast was very good, the hotel was very quiet, the view by the sea was very good, the location was very close to the blue bay public beach, the snorkeling swimming was very convenient, the hotel facilities were very general, the soundproofing was not good, the big bed was actually two small beds A little bit awkward! Its been over a week since we returned from Mauritius and we still have that wholesome buzz lingering. Sea sense Boutique Hotel and Spa was our second stop on our recent holiday (in fact Honeymoon!)….. The location (ie right on the beach) and grounds of the hotel were beautiful. Everywhere is so well kept and idyllic. The biggest triumph for us was the service/people. When we first arrived we felt a bit apprehensive as you see so many people buzzing around from morning through til night its almost hard to remember who is who. But as the holiday went on, these people we see every day soon became friends. People we would look forward to seeing through the day. The team at Seasense are absolutely fantastic and have such a warmth that makes you feel genuinely cared for and welcomed. A big shout out to Sylvana, Aniket, Gerald and Jerome who were a pleasure to be around. You really are great at what you do and worth your weight in gold. We were in the Charm room which was quaint. Overall cleanliness good. Good amenities provided. We had the pleasure of using the spa too which was lovely. Therapists were lovely and very well equipped. Easy to book. Oils they used smelt divine and everything felt so relaxing. The Boathouse is a really lovely touch. Being able to borrow snorkelling gear, Kayaks etc without any worries was a really convenient. Jude (can be found in or around the Boathouse) was always so helpful and another real asset to your team. Food was mostly good. We would have however loved to have seen a bit more Mauritius food/snacks available. Ie fried rice/biryani/noodles/varying salads. One really minor bugbear/running joke we had was the chefs insistent use of meringue, sugar daisies and jellylike substance on nearly every dessert we had included in the Half Board. Without these – not bad at all! Breakfast - TOAST! A toaster with sliced bread would be amazing but otherwise a good selection already available. I chose the four seasons because I believe that the four seasons are consistently high quality, very good environment and location, the staff take care of my feelings, except for one, I will elaborate below. Not only did I change the villa in a better location, but the vehicle I ordered twice was upgraded to the best SUV. The driver who accompanied me to Port Louis, Steve, was attentive, very kind, hot, and patiently accompanied I walked under the big sun and introduced the humanities customs very carefully. The hotel is full of villas, super beautiful and super beautiful, just take a big picture. The beau champs in the western restaurant are super beautiful and super beautiful. I like it the most. Just checked out of ombré after an absolute fabulous 2 weeks, we cannot fault this hotel or the staff, food in all restaurants was excellent especially lunch in the dolce vita. Room was cleaned daily to a high standard, beach staff very attentive offering cold flannels, drinks of choice, ice pops and even sunglasses cleaning. We had regular fun nights at TI bar with all staff constantly filling up your glass. Booked the 5 island boat trip with Chris on the beach, this was I must say the best boat trip we have ever been on and excellent value for money. All I can say is I cannot wait to return.

The hotel is very good and very stylish. The reception department is very professional. Thank you again for Ctrip. Before the trip, there was a problem with the flight. Other tourists on the flight with Ctrip bought the tickets and got a very good arrangement. I bought it on a dragon, and the service was a shit.

The location is good, the hotel can provide free snorkeling service, you can also see a lot of fish snorkeling next to the hotel, the sea is very clear, great.

First time travel alone beyond expectation Environmental beauty There is a world-class ⛳️ and private 🚤 on the island of Kashima. There is a bartender service on the beach. You can also book a barbecue on the beach. The hotel has free water sports and junior classes. Breakfast, my little brother will sell cute paintings. The only small regret is that the room does not depend on the sea. It is recommended to couple couples and big families to choose a better room type.
