Hotel Costa Galana

We were scheduled to drive down to Mar del Plata toay from Buenos Aires and stay at Hotel Costa Galana . Unfortunately my wallet was stolen late yesterday afternoon with my drivers license included.... so I was unable to pick up our rental car to make the trip. Román Brutti from the Reservations Office at Hotel Costa Galana was very understanding and worked with us on the late cancellation. I am so appreciative and look forward to coming back to this wonderful country again soon and will definitely book a stay at Hotel Costa Galana when we return!

Beautiful hotel, attentive and friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed and beds are comfortable, and nothing is too much trouble. I was here for five nights for a Congress and was treated like royalty. Breakfasts are generous with a wide variety of food to choose from. I had lunch and dinner here and there was a great choice - bife de chorizo was cooked perfectly!

When staff are nice, it is hard to write a harsh review, but this property is a poster child for deferred maintenance. Owners and property managers need to take an audit and understand that to promote this hotel as a five-star property is misleading. Tattered furnishings, torn and soiled carpeting, worn draperies are but the start of what could be a long list of disappointments. For starters, room reserved was not what was delivered. Arriving to a room much smaller and poorly appointed, we asked to view another room with hopes it would be clean. No luck, as I pointed out soiled spots on the carpet similar to our first assigned room. Bathroom fixtures are tarnished , bent, and in need of repair. Lack of electrical outlets don’t meet standards of a fine property. Enough said from one who writes scores of reviews. Suffice it to say that one or two stars need to be removed from the hotel’s signage until the property improves in basic quality standards.

The Hotel is living on past fame, it is currently the most expensive hotel in the city and proud to be a five star, while they only give you a three star experience. The rooms are outdated, the carpet is way too old and there is visible rust, peeling and other lack of maintenance on the bathrooms hardware. We had two of the best suites they offer and the view was very nice though. The service personnel was at times rude and some grossly untrained. They are enforcing what they call aforo, which is restrictions on capacity and services everywhere, but really what they are doing is offering less with less personnel, they make you reserve one day in advance for breakfast, sauna, pool use etc . When you try to use any of these services, they prevent guests access without reservation even if it is empty at the time. The beach is unusable since they rent all the tents to locals for the whole season, we had to end using a nearby beach club since the Hotel didn't even reserve a few tents for their guests. All this happened on low season, on December 2021, so good luck during high season. The most brilliant moment was when my father in law ordered a Cognac at the lobby bar and they brought him Fireball, yes fireball, I pointed politely that it was mistaken, and after a few minutes the server came to explain that they thought fireball was the most similar since they ran out of cognac... I hope you get a better stay than me!

Hotel situado en la zona de Playa Grande, ofrece servicios acorde a un hotel 5 estrellas. En esta oportunidad fui por un congreso pero he pasado vacaciones de verano con mis hijas. Siempre está impecable y ofreciendo a sus huéspedes calidad y calidez en la atención. Instalaciones confortables. Los restaurantes y bares tienen carta variada y con excelente servicio. El desayuno es muy variado, con opciones gluten free y productos preparados y servidos en el momento. El restaurant Mar ofrece una experiencia gastronómica brillante. Los servicios e instalaciones del Spa, propician un momento de absoluto relax frente al mar. Es un Hotel que agasaja a sus huéspedes por su calidad en atención, instalaciones y servicios brindados.

Excelente servicio y atención; personal en general muy bien predispuesto a dar respuesta a cualquier inquietud o duda check in ágil, botones predispuestos y atento a las necesidades del pasajero desayuno interminable que hacen una estadia confortable
