When you approach through the forest and waterways this monster in a large pond intrigues. Located next to the old Waterloopkundig or hydrological research centre this building from the sixties with its concrete look, has been fully remodelled and modernized. Nice couches and surroundings created in the main entrance and the hallways. Plenty of parking space and possibility to stall your bikes and bicycles. One strange thing is that they demand immediate payment of the room (even when we had given a credit card guarantee) though you can charge bar and restaurant on the room. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the pond and they have a lot of space. They are modern and supplied with a safe and coffeemaker. Good beds and perfect shower. The lights for reading at the seats and for shaving at the wash basin are faint and don't really help. For the rest, no remarks to the rooms though the decoration on the walls is a little bit of everything. The restaurant offered a special asparagus menu due to the season. We assume they do more of these specialties. The normal dishes have a decent variety and there is the possibility of the chef's choice in meat, fish or vegetarian (recommendable). With the option of strolling alongside the old research objects in the moors and woodlands and the good cycling options, this new (opened at 31 March 2023) hotel is an excellent extra for the Fletcher brand.

The rooms are fully equipped, clean and tidy. The kitchen utensils are also very complete and can be simple to cook. The room is located in the essence of Yangjiao Village, you can go out for a walk any time. Friendly service. Yangjiao Village is so beautiful and worth living here.

After a bike trip from Lelystad to Steenwijk I had a room in this hotel. Wonderful room very good bed, beautiful sanitary and a spacious breakfast enough. The next day after a bike trip in the surroundings, I could still dress in this hotel. Good and good staff.

The holiday home is ideally located in the waters of Giethoorn. The car stops at the parking lot outside the hotel and walks 200 meters past the bridge to the resort. When we arrived, it was already 7 o'clock. We contacted the owner in advance and added 25 Euros to wait for us. The owner is a straightforward old man, and people are not bad. There is one house per household, which can accommodate 4 people. There is a kitchen utensils for cooking. You can bring your own food for cooking. There are also many restaurants and bars on the street outside the hotel. It is very convenient. The scenery in the resort is invincible. It is recommended to stay for 2 days, and there are many places to play. One day is really not fun. Be sure to clean the kitchen utensils before you check out. Finally, I reminded Chinese tourists who went to Yangjiao Village to play. In the scenic area, someone pretending to be a policeman to drive a car. The people in the back seat pulled down the window and took out the police card to see your passport. Don’t ignore them, myself. I ignored them and they left, but I saw a pair of Chinese young people grabbing bags from them. They stared at the Chinese and they must pay attention!

The hotel is located in the northern part of the Netherlands. There are relatively few Chinese people. The hotel is a pure business hotel. Breakfast is 6:30-11:00, but some business people go to the restaurant to talk about things at 9:00. It is busy during the day and the restaurant is great at night. Having become accustomed to great customer service throughout the Netherlands our arrival here was marred by the frosty receptionist . We had arrived by bicycle for one night as part of our tour and on checkin we were told that the restaurant was fully booked and asked in a somewhat condescending manner ‘have you not made an advance reservation?’. Having not logged into the hotels WiFi I couldn’t honestly recall. The unhelpful receptionist suggested I speak with her colleague in the restaurant. This I did, he couldn’t find a reservation for us either. However he did say he would have a table free for 8pm so we reserved that. Had the weather been fine we would have ridden back into Lemmer! The hotel is about 2km out of the town. After a shower I discovered we had indeed made a reservation and showed the receptionist the confirmation email from her colleague Chantel. I was then given a story that all guests are sent an email informing them that just because they have made a dinner reservation does not guarantee it! Really? An apology would have been so much more well received! The irony being that ‘Chantel’ informed us that we’d have to dine at six rather than seven due to staff shortages! We then went to the restaurant where it could be seen that there were two tables free which the unhelpful and defensive head waiter informed us were pre-booked. We were seated in what can best be described as the corridor. However, within a few minutes a further table became free and we were invited to take that. The meal itself was OK but honestly you could pay less for better food (and service) elsewhere. By the time we had finished our meal the two “Reserved” tables still remained unoccupied. Our room was fine but how this hotel can claim to be 4* is beyond me. We certainly won’t be back.

I was warmly welcomed late in the evening. The check-in was very pleasant and charming. The room was very spacious, a little dark, but not disturbing. The encounter with the supposed governess in the morning also left a professional impression. The bike hire service is a must to discover more of the surrounding area. The highlight was the restaurant visit in the evening. A wonderful 4-course surprise menu from the kitchen at a high level. The service was also incredibly harmonious and i was well looked after. The homemade butter and the homemade bread were simply heavenly. In general, I can say that this hotel is a little hidden gem in the heart of the Netherlands.
