This is coming from someone, who has been there over 20 times since 1998 (when it was still half-board): Elegance is getting worse from stay to stay. As far I know the old owner is not in charge anymore, since that it‘s going downhill. Rooms urgently need a makeover and better cleaning (we had a cockroach in ours!). Catering: The food has never been pretty various, but in last september it was a joke: Pasta and tomatoe sauce nearly every day, Pide everyday, no variation at all, so we had to go out to eat several times. My highlight was frozen corn at the „Silent Pool Buffet“ - very delicious! Included drinks are from the lowest quality you can imagine and watered down, so better bring your own. Animation: Not existing. The „Animation Team“ is just walking around, acting busy but don‘t interact with anyone (unless you‘re a young female of a certain origin, as other nationalities get ignored). The „shows“ at night are 15 minutes long and always the same for years now. They had a pretty good dance crew in May and June, but I assume they are just too good compared to the rest. The so called DJ is blasting too loud playlists that doesn‘t suit to the guests at all, so many leave early to go to bed instead. What else to say? Most workers don‘t speak a single word english which lead to pretty „funny“ situations when you want to return your towel for example. There is also one strange guy (I can name him if necessary) working in the restaurant and the Hana Beach restaurant that asked to hug my girlfriend and take photos with her with me sitting right next to her. If you want to get a drink at evening be prepared to wait, because there is only one bartender (intentionally)? WiFi is only working sometimes, if you have to check mails or anything urgent, keep that in mind. Funny thing is: There is one guy with a suite and shades running around all day pretending to be the manager looking at his smartphone. If you are the manager, why don‘t you notice the obvious? Why has a regular customer to list all that points? I understand if you have to cut the budget or something, but this has nothing to do with a 5 star hotel (anymore). If you kept reading you may wonder why I still gave 2 stars: I love the location combined with 25 years of memories and there are still some workers that make feel you welcome every time I visit. Unfortunately that‘s not enough anymore, which leads us to pick another hotel for the upcoming years. Sadly all I will receive is that „thanks for your feedback mail“ instead of real changes.
