Small chic hotel, once you find it. Be sure to obtain clear directions to hotel and for parking in advance of your visit (rather than miss an email sent just 2 hours before arrival!). Pack light or be prepared to haul your baggage up some serious steps.

Very Nice hôtel in Matera !
The host was very welcoming and kind. Perfect explanations of the city tour.
Please note that the cleaning in the bathroom was not perfect but the room was clean.
Room was very good.

Family own - but very much professionel. Elisabetta makes sure you have a wonderfull stay. We loved the Cave room - the beautyfull terrasse .. with shadow in the morning - so you can have the lovely breakfast outside. Great value - and you find fully stocked minibar at very fair prices. Ekstra plus is very nice wine glasses free to use.

Very friendly staff and accommodating even with our stay at the hotel. I highly recommend this cave hotel.

Upon our arrival our room felt cold, damp and smelt musty. When we returned after dinner there was no wifi and no staff in attendance to contact about this. The bed only had a thin cotton blanket. We were cold at night and there were no spare blankets in the room. The air conditioning seemed to be on & we turned it up but the temperature stayed the same. If the air conditioning was not working then the receptionist should have provided instructions. As a result we both went away with colds. An expensive, cold night.

Metella Suite is a design hero. It's absolutely beautiful with it's big luxurious bath, glass bathroom, romantic candles and the end of balcony for a little more privacy outside and those incredibly magical views at night. I liked being tucked away here (away from the noiser stereo playing part of town)

Hotel was great. Hotel stated they sent me a message through What’s up App not to drive to the hotel because it is in a restricted area and you are required to have authorization to drive in the area. I don’t have the what’s up app so I was unaware of the restriction and received a traffic citation.

Amazing experience! Not only the place is amazing (it is a suite built in the rocks=sasso) but the genuine concern for the guests begins even before the arrival (they contacted in advance providing information and giving alternatives for parking as the hotel is in a restricted traffic zone). Owner and team are very nice and approachable.
