New Bath Hotel & Spa

Wasn't actually able to stay at the hotel sdue to an error in their system. The hotel were accommodating to try and get is booked in on 3 extra dates but unsuccessful. Refused a refund on the issue. Can't say alot more other than a shame we were unstable to stay.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights with family. But would say have had a worst experience of our life. The entire hotel is full of spider webs. The room is in a terrible state, with broken and rusty furnitures, broken bed, full of dust and spider webs. My little one got so much of rashes cause of the insects in the room. We booked breakfast with room and that was the worst choice ever. The breakfast consisted of ready croissants, pancakes, waffles and some stale cut fruits. No eggs nothing. Please do not book this hotel as you will be wasting your time and money. Rather look for some decent hotel.

This hotel is close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. Both are within around 20 minutes driving distances. It is located in a Matlock village, lots of walking routes you can enjoy.

A rather poor, run down hotel that was probably really nice at some point in time, rather a shame to see it like this. The staff were friendly but the biggest disappointment was the breakfast, it’s just a continental and not a very good one at that. I left a £400 coat and a £300 Gillet in the cupboard and called them when I got home, they confirmed they had found the coat but no sign of the gillet. They offered to post it for £10 which we sent but received nothing. Chased them a few times and have now been told that they posted it without any tracking so it must have gone missing in the post. Hmmmm, doesn’t sound very likely to me. Nobody would post an item like that without tracking and also its weird that they only owned up to finding one of the items. Will not be staying again but if you do, please keep an eye out for some well-dressed members of staff. An expensive evenings stay!

The staff was very welcoming , helpful and polite , the overall hotel had a lovely warm feeling . Would recommend was a short walk to the amenities the children had a great time at the arcades , the bus into Matlock town centre stopped at the bottom of the drive on the main road so was perfect . Thankyou will hopefully be staying again in the summer .

Every member of staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meals were very nice and was presented well. I do have to however mention the central heating !! Our room ( we stayed in the annex) was freezing, we spoke to reception staff and was told it’s all on a timer, 6am to 10am then again 6pm to 10pm. We were told that we had an electric heater in the wardrobe which we used to get the room warm. Staff also had to put electric heaters in the dining room as it was cold. The staff said that heating should be on 24/7 as the current cold spell made it worse. Heard quite a few guests complain about the heating. Because of the heating issue our stay wasn’t as comfortable as we had hoped. I think guests should be aware of this heating issue before booking.

Rooms very cold thin quilts no blanket heating poor ran out of items at breakfast no butter really!

The room was laid out really nice however furniture was tired with obvious signs of wear like cracks in bathroom tiles and stains in the carpet. As well as this the room was very cold and there was no heating facilities The pool was advertised as being available to guests which sounded great but upon arrival the pool was closed and with the early check out there was no time to consider the pool the following day. Breakfast was overly priced (£17) on the app and £10 within the hotel. The breakfast was naff and wasn’t refreshed to keep up with the demand, I had a glass of orange juice and to my surprise their were black bits floating in it. The room was overpriced (£197) and upon the day of arrival I re-checked the price and it was coming up as £130 which I believe is extremely unreasonable considering the room was booked a week before the stay. Staff were pleasant Hotel just needs a good once over and a bit of TLC. Price would of been justified if all services that were advertised were available as the pool was closed and sauna was not easily accessible, nor was the breakfast justifiable for the price due to poor selection.
