A fab warm welcome from Uta, who was very friendly and helpful throughout our 3 night stay. Our double room had a very comfy bed with a super outlook to the garden and views to the open countryside. Breakfast menu had everything you could ever wish for, beautifully cooked and presented. We would definitely return if we were back in the Melrose area and have no hesitation in highly recommending this boutique B&B.

Four of us, two couples, stayed at Bowden House for 3 nights as a base for exploring the local area including the Great Tapestry of Scotland. The weather was superb for the whole weekend and we were warmly welcomed with a pot of tea on the patio overlooking the garden and the hills beyond. Our rooms were well appointed and the breakfasts were great with a wide choice. Our evening meals were taken in local restaurants in Melrose and St Boswells, short drives away, all excellent choices.

Bowden House is a fabulous setting for peace and relaxation set in a small conservation village in the Scottish Borders . Ula and Jason are fabulous hosts and made our 3 day stay most relaxing and enjoyable! Highly recommended. We will be back !!!! ( The French Room was exquisite!) Linda and Brian

Everything you could expect from a B&B. Gorgeous, peaceful setting just outside St. Boswells with very secure parking inside a gated garden. Uta is the perfect host: welcoming and informative. Bowden house is spotless, combining all modern conveniences in a historic building. Breakfast is first-class. We’ll be back!

We stopped off here for a couple of days exploring the borders. We received a warm welcome from Uta and found the facilities at Bowden House to be excellent. The house itself is located in the middle of Bowden village, but looking out of the window to the rear gave an expansive view of the borders countryside. Spotlessly clean, super-comfortable beds, good bathroom, and a comprehensive breakfast all contributed to making this a most enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful home and gardens in a quiet setting, only short drive to Melrose. A splendid breakfast, lovely room with modern and immaculate en-suite . Hosts very accommodating, with no doubts about recommending this B&B to others.

Lovely location, spacious room and excellent breakfast. The views from Bowden are beautiful and Uta was a great host with loads of info about the area . We would highly recommend Bowden House; one of the best B&Bs we have stayed at.

A wonderful renovated house with great, endless view into the borders. More important warm-welcoming and super friendly host and also excellent breakfast that leaves no wishes unheard. Definitely plan to come back for another stay very soon!

What a fantastic B&B, the location is wonderful and quiet and the breakfasts were top notch! Uta and Jason (the hosts) really go all out in both accommodating and making you feel at home. We stayed for three nights and had some of the best sleeps we’ve had in ages
