Wyndham Merida

Me gusta mucho este hotel , es silencioso , el servicio bueno , las instalaciones muy bien y la cama cómoda , lo único malo es el restaurant , tanto en calidad como en servicio .

This Wyndham in the heart of Merida was overall very nice with a superb staff on hand. A few snafus to mention… I am handicapped and their own ADA rooms are on the fourth floor. Who know whose idea that was! There is one elevator on each side of the hotel, and if the elevator is out, and you are on the fourth floor, you have to take the stairs because there is no connection to the other side of the building. So… of course, on our second day, both elevators were out. We requested that they move us to a room on the 1st floor. When we returned from our day’s activities, all of our stuff was moved to a new room, even though that room was not an ADA room. All good right? Not quite, as we are getting ready to head out that evening, we see a puddle of water in the bathroom…turns out there was a leak from the base of the toilet. The staff once again helped us to move to another room on the first floor. Overall, it’s also a well-kept hotel. But the building is quite old and could use some repairs. We ate at their restaurant only once, and it was not Wyndham quality food. Their brunch is a whopping 350 pesos, which given the food quality, is extremely overpriced. For breakfast, we strongly recommend going to the very nearby Flores Café. The rooms are nice; our first (ADA) room was actually larger than the room we were assigned on the first floor. The best part about the hotel was the staff. Extremely helpful and apologetic about the elevator situation. I give this hotel overall 4 stars; 5 for service; 3 for the ADA situation and 3 for the food.

We stayed here due to our flight getting canceled and staying here. The staff has been absolutely amazing! They have been so helpful and accommodating. They have went above and beyond what was expected! We are so appreciative of everyone here.

There were construction noises. very loud. They moved me to another room but it still was not good. Property looks in bad shape. Needs maintenance. Shower was broken and it would pour hot water out of nowhere.

Terrible stay. When we arrived, the front desk did not welcome us with courtesy and smile. It took a long time to find us our room even though we arrived way pass the 3pm permitted check-in time. They did mention that the elevator was not working but will be the next day. Not that it mattered much because we were on the 2nd floor, but don`t make promises that they cannot keep. We stayed for 9 nights and the elevator was not working when we left. Before she gave us to our room, there was no mention that there was going to be some jack hammering outside our room in the adjacent construction site during the day. We ask the front desk to change our room to a inside courtyard room because we do take siestas in the afternoon. After an hour, they did reluctantly gave us an inside courtyard room. Then on our 7th day of stay, they maid did not make our room and we had to find the manager, Ernesto as to why our room was not cleaned and made? Is not like we just checked in the day before and maid may not be aware that someone was occupying that room. He apologized and guaranteed that the room will be made at 9am the next day after we leave in the morning. We returned at 3:30pm and the room was still not made. We had to find Ernesto again and he said that he will talk to the head of the cleaning staff and have it done immediately. Eventually as we were leaving for dinner at 5pm, a cleaning lady came to clean and make the room. Ernesto did provide us with 2 free breakfasts for the remaining 2 days. We would not even rate this as a 3 star hotel when we had to pay $150/night. Every day, we had to call the front desk because there was something missing from the room, if it was not towels, it was soap or bottles of water. Also, on the last night that we stayed, there a number of people in the courtyard (pool area) laughing loudly and partying until 2am. We will not be staying at this location when we return to Merida next year.

This was a very mid hotel. Nothing special, restaurant food was below average. The staff was above average. The room was below average

I caution staying here, while the location is okay and the front desk staff is nice the management is awful. Stayed here in a "suite" The room was not cleaned on arrival ... had a funny smell from one of the bathrooms opened the toilet and you can guess what was still in the toilet from the previous guest stay. I was disgusted and ask to change rooms but this was not offered. The plumbing is bad and the shower doesn't drain. The jacuzzi tub didn't work even after maintenance came. If you think that was it there was no security lock on the door as shown and one of the cleaning staff entered the room late at night without permission while I was sleeping. Things do happen but what makes it worse is nothing was done to rectify these problems. They lied to ********** and said I was offered another room. Who would deny a new room with these issues? Will never stay here again the whole place needs an overhaul.

Construction noise going on from 8 am to 5 pm. Restaurant food and service could do a lot better. Front desk service was great

It was a very disappointing visit. Very bad attitude of front desk personel. Towels and bed clothing very old. No amenities at all. I decided to move to a different hotel and they threatened with charges. Tried to have lunch there and had to leave restaurant without anyone caring for me being there. I would not recommend the hotel at all.
