The good part about this hotel is that it's near the Mersing jetty, so it's convenient to get there. You can just walk over especially if you're just backpacking. However, since I guess most people just stay here overnight to catch the ferry to an island, it is very basic and reception wasn't very friendly. The unfortunate part about my stay is because it is very near to the jetty and close to Independence Day, there was a festival going on nearby and the sound from it was in direct line to my window, which meant I only slept once the festival was over - which is not good for resting after a long drive and waking up early to catch a ferry.
