Hotel Oriente

We had a wonderful time in this very special hotel set into the cliffside with amazing views of the Bay of Naples. We were made welcome immediately we arrived. Our room was kept spotlessly clean and had a generously sized balcony with table and chairs and comfortable sofas. We enjoyed views of the sea to one side with Vesuvius in the distance and on the other side the road to the train/bus station (literally a few minutes from the hotel) and centre of Vico Equense 10 minutes walk from the hotel (only a few stops on the inexpensive circumvesuviana train about 15 minutes to Sorrento in one direction and about 45-60 mins to Naples in the other). The hotel staff were very friendly and I would like to particularly recognise the waiting staff - Gennaro, Carlo, Catello and Francesco, led by their excellent team leader Vincenzo - who made our excellent dining experience all the more special. As well as being well looked after we felt we’d made friends on holiday. The food was of a very high standard - delicious and well presented. Compliments to the chef Giovanni! There was a good selection of dishes which were different each night and even though we stayed for two weeks there was always something different to try. The dining room was very light and airy. As an extra bonus there was a beautiful sunset every evening around 8.10pm. Breakfast was also very good with fresh fruit and pastries, different types of bread and rolls as well as cereal, yoghurt and bacon and egg etc The coffee machine used real coffee beans and the coffee was very good. No matter what time you came to breakfast everything was kept well stocked. The reception staff - Carmela, Fabio and Alessandro - are very knowledgeable about the local area and beyond and ready to help guests in any way they can. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. It was not our first visit and it won’t be our last.

We had a great room which had recently been renovated and had everthing we needed.we had a great view of the sea. We were booked in for 1/2 board. The breakfast had a good choice. The evening meal was very good with choices for each course. The thing that made it for us were the staff they were all wonderfull could not do enough for you could not find fault. We booked through tui they were useless so relied on hotel staff for information and as already said they were great..

Just returned from a week at this hotel. It is located a 2 minute walk from train station and about 5 minute walk from local restaurants and small town. The best thing about the hotel are the staff. Every member is very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I asked one evening if tiramisu was going to be on the menu during the week and at the end of my meal they brought tiramisu for me. They bought extra soft bread rolls every evening. The reception staff were very helpful along with the cleaners and the gardener. Booked with tui and never saw a rep once. The hot tub was not open, but no mention of this on tui website. Would recommend simply for the service we received.

We had a very pleasant stay this week at hotel oriente. Room was basic but clean. Few things were broken such as the shower which was disappointing given a 4 star hotel however the stay was lovely on the whole. Special shout out to Vincenzo for making our dining experience spectacular. He was so kind, welcoming and happy. He couldn’t do enough for us and even accommodated for different dietary preferences on the night which he didn’t have to do but made our experience fantastic. He was professional at all time and held the standard very high. Thankyou so much!!

A lovely friendly well positioned hotel, easy access via train to all locations. What makes the hotel is the staff, nothing to much trouble. Best service ever, special mention to Vincenzo, Gennare, Carlo and all the waiting staff. Fabio on reception and even the gentleman doing general maintenance took out bags in. Congratulations on such a wonderful team. Would definitely recommend and go back. 😍

The hotel was a great place to stay in as it was two minutes walk away from the centre of town, overlooking the Bay of Naples with a view of the beach. The staff were friendly and happy to help with anything. Rooms were modern, comfortable and clean . We had breakfast and dinner included and the food was good and varied. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will stay again in the future.

This hotel needs and update but has a ton of potential. Pros, nice location away from the rat race of Sorrento- close to train station, Accommodating but lack of staff, breakfast was lovely Cons, rooms are old and need an uplift, bathrooms are small and so are beds. We changed rooms because our bed was small. We were told we booked an economy room- should not mean a lousy room. Our friends booked an economy room but there bed was bigger🙄 No kettle in the room or hotel, Shower was small and no room for shampoo I would not recommend this property to family or friends

This hotel has a fantastic location with panoramic views of the gulf of Naples. The proximity of the train/ bus station only 5 mins away is also a massive bonus as Pompeii, Herculaneum, mount Faito and Naples are easily reached plus it’s only around 10/12 mins to get into the heart of Sorrento. Our room was clean, spacious and had an amazing terrace with a sea view, 2 sun loungers and a table & chairs plus it got the sun all day. If you went out sight seeing and got back and wanted to relax the terrace was peaceful and the views were amazing. It was however strange getting out as you had to climb a few steps and go out of your window but not a problem. Rooms were serviced daily and there’s a fridge for you to put a few drinks in. We don’t normally go half board as we like to wander around and try things but we’re so glad we did at this hotel as the standard of service and selection at both breakfast and dinner was excellent. What made it even more pleasurable was the friendly greeting and helpful staff who made it their business to look after you well. Reception staff were friendly and professional but Vincenzo and his team in the restaurant were another level. I’ve got to give a special mention to Genaro , who always has a smile and looks genuinely pleased to see you every day, Nunzio, who was king of the barista coffees and just a lovely guy and last but not least Carlo and Cortello ( sorry for any spelling mistakes) who looked after us so well during our stay. We’ve enjoyed many beautiful sunsets through the panoramic windows in the restaurant. We did worry the food would be boring and repetitive but it was different every night for 2 weeks so “Grazie Mille “to the chefs too. You pay the bar bill at the end of your stay but the prices were reasonable as a limencello spritz was €6 and so was a gin & tonic. Prices for drinks in Sorrento are way more and Amalfi and Capri prices are eye watering. You can access the jacuzzi for 45/60 mins a day by booking at reception and this was lovely after a day out in the baking heat. The bay is a walk down the hillside and you get 2 lounger vouchers per week with Tui and a courtesy bus is available from the hotel. The town of Vico itself is pleasant enough to walk around plus has some nice bars and restaurants worth a visit. All in all it’s a great base to explore the region from.

Amazing place in Naples, very safe and extremely safe, clean, spacious rooms, we had especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace, excellent breakfast, afternoon tea, tasty dinner. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful. Thanks
