Lovely decor, great location and welcoming staff are all strong positives for this hotel. The lack of cleanliness was disappointing. My bathroom had soap scum on the sink, a sticky floor and hair in the tub. I asked for a thorough cleaning and returned to find hair still in the tub and the sink barely wiped down. Then there was the mouse in the hall. Cute, but not ideal.

Premium price but low delivery. This was our third time here and it just keeps getting worse. We were exhausted when we arrived at 5, and my husband was ill. There was no one to sign us in. Just a sign saying they would be right back. I texted. I called. About 10 min later the desk person came out from the office behind desk. No apology. Later my husband had to get something and again had to look for him. You all need to have enough staff to have someone to check in your guests! This was all at usual early evening check in time. We paid for the deluxe king suite and ended up on the bottom level with the windows opening directly into parked cars. No barriers or plantings. It felt unsafe. The windows were broken and couldn’t open well. The air conditioner in the bedroom didn’t work and it was super hot. There was garbage in the mini fridge. The foldout bed had a super sketchy old blanket. Previous stays have had mixed elements. The front desk helped me reverse a bogus charge from a third party reservation app. I appreciate that. The woman in restaurant was extra spicy. Just a real mixed bag. I wanted to like this place but unless you get a super deal, it is not worth it. Just want other people to be aware - the high prices during peak times do not mean you are going to a consistent Otto nice place.

This was our first time at the Inn at Middletown and it was a great experience! We were in town to spend a couple of days before our son started at Wesleyan. Mary at check in was friendly and very welcoming. The rooms were great, and it was a fantastic location for both exploring Main St and also to Wesleyan’s campus. Will definitely stay here again!

Absolutely love the staff and the my monthly stays. Lisa in the bar is AMAZING....all of the staff on point from checkin to checkout. Love the rooms, beds are comfy, things are clean and parking is always easy. Highly recommend staying here.

Fourth-floor room was clean and quiet. Bed was extremely comfortable. Parking is in the back and there is a back door (with room key entry), but it’s isolated and I personally would think twice about staying in a room on that entry floor. I walked around to the front lobby entrance. Front desk was friendly.

We had a great stay . The staff was very attentive and curtious. The parking was a bit far and confusing to find at night . But the map they sent helped . The TV channel selection was not great . Among the gzillion Tv channels there was nothing to watch . No Olympics , no tennis channel . The network went down at times .

As a Middletown native (I now live in New Mexico), it had been some years since I had visited to actually stay in town. I returned recently to do some family history research and wanted to be "right there". While a bit more costly than other Middletown lodging, it was totally worth it to be right there on Main St, where I spent a lot of time growing up as a kid. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the conversion of the old Armory building has yielded a fine set of accomodations in downtown. And lets not forget the food. The Tavern at the Armory serves up some of the best around. Well worth the visit even if you aren't staying at the hotel. I will readily go back again on my next trip back to Middletown. All in all a great visit to my old home town.

The front desk staff were fantastic, and Darcy in the bar is a sweetheart. However the woman who answers the phone for room service was so rude. The first time I called she immediately said could I call back later because they were too busy. Not polite, and pretty rude. I waited an hour and called back again and same woman said that because it was 8:59pm and they stopped taking orders at 9pm she couldn't take my order. There is nothing in the room to say that, and she never mentioned it the first time I called. I explained what happened and she basically hung up on me!! I was staying with my sister who was very sick and she ended up being admitted to hospital the next morning. It was a very stressful visit and that woman made it worse. I had to leave my sick sister alone in our room to get a take out pizza. I hope the hotel speaks to her because her attitude was disgusting.

The Middletown Inn staff is superb. I had injured myself participating in a senior track event, and the front desk person was concerned and helpful in bringing some first aid products directly to our room and arranging for free valet parking for our car. The front desk staff in the morning were equally helpful. The room was immaculate, and the restaurant food was excellent. All the staff were friendly. Thank you, Middletown Inn!
