Chikurakutei

We are a couple from Australia and I only speak a little Japanese. This was a truly AMAZING experience! The staff were so kind and friendly, giving us assistance was no issue for them. The location is stunning, the private onsen was glorious and the dinners and breakfasts were bigger than we could possibly eat (and we love our food). The price point for this experience was so good - fantastic value for money. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a little adventure in the heart of countryside Japan. If you get the chance to also visit Minamiaso (they will take you there at no extra charge) for the day, grab some e-bikes and have a ride around- take in the beautiful scenery and wonderful food options.

Travelled as a family, they made special arrangements for us to have earlier breakfast at 7.30am as we had to depart the hotel to Takachiho Gorge by 8am. Yukata was of the wrong size for my mum and we had a hard time getting the staff's attention to change the size. Food is average for ryokan omakase, my daughter had a change to feed the duck. We enjoyed the onsen.

一間人情味濃的溫泉旅館，工作人員很親切，很主動跟客人溝通。旅館環境很清靜舒服，有可餵飼的鴨羣，懶洋洋的貓咪。房間內有點殘舊，沒有浴室、樽裝水、拖鞋等。食物ok!

Super nice all the way around. Staff is incredibly friendly - especially my Nepali friend who can’t do enough to help you. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms spacious and so nice. Private indoor AND outdoor onsen in my room - amazing. Plus cave and beautiful outdoor public onsens. 10 course dinner included with my reservation - wasn’t expecting that. Best place I stayed in my 10 day tour. Close to the airport too. Just wish I could have stayed longer!
