PEASHOOTS

Please read about our stay before considering this place.
To kick things off, we didn’t feel welcomed. We were greeted with “take your shoes off, no shoes upstairs.”
Air conditioning obviously has never been cleaned as both myself and my husband became sick in the room mainly with sore throats. Also the location of it is behind the bathroom door so when you’re in bed it doesn’t actually feel any colder, also probably due to lack of filter cleaning. Restless for all three nights we stayed there.
When arriving in our room the hand soap dispenser didn’t work and the shower gel hadn’t been topped up, neither the shampoo/conditioner. In the shower there was an ugly bucket placed in the middle and the titles were broken. Also no hot water with a water pressure of 0.
Shelves also hanging off the wall which meant anything you put on it would easily fall off.
Had to ask for toilet roll repeatedly as staff do not accommodate for you daily.
There was a power cut that lasted from 1pm -11:30pm, so spent the majority of one of our days in the dark with no air conditioning, water or electricity. I understand they couldn’t have foreseen this, but their dealing with it was awful. We were told it would definitely be turned back on at 9-10pm the latest and it wasn’t. Having thought it was over the following day, they decided to voluntarily turn it off for “30minutes” which turned into several hours.
Any information about the power cut had to be asked for as residents were not informed about anything during this period. The only information they’d provide were false promises of when the electricity would be back on. We saw a family leave the hotel at 11pm due to the lack of certainty.
At one point when I asked for information on the power-cut, I was interrupted by the staff member I was talking to so she could chat with a completely separate guest, that ended up asking the same questions I had. These questions came because no member of staff would inform the residents.
When we asked for compensation for all the issues everyone faced during the power cut, they said “everyone gets a free breakfast”, which I’m sure no one would have known about unless they asked for some kind of compensation.
The male staff were very genuine and helpful during our stay. Although, they weren’t there the majority of the time. The female staff were rude, unwelcoming and you felt guilty asking them for anything at all.
This was honestly the most depressing stay out of many places we stayed at in the Philippines, power-cut or not.
