The dust, oh the dust! Treating the gravel roads for dust is not a priority which then causes a constant foggy haze over the campground. It covers EVERYTHING! Your vehicle, your trailer, inside your trailer, on your skin, your food and the constant taste of it in your mouth. Sitting outside is difficult due to the dust, if you don’t breath or open your mouth or eyes no worries. Sun retreat denies guest from erecting add a rooms, decks, or any other site upgrades at your cost of course, unless they are a very specific brand or meet their very specific specification which they won’t tell you what they are you have to fill out a site upgrade form’ and wait weeks to hear if it was denied or approved because they want to make sure everything meets their ‘curb appeal standards’, again no information is given on what these standards are as they want final say on what you do and giving these standard could mean someone does something they don’t think looks pretty. But the dust is not included in the curb appeal standards? Looking at trailers, cars and even people like they haven’t been washed in months is not a curb appeal standard for them as it cost them money they don’t think would benefit them. Now they did allow campers to spray the road in front of their site 2 times a day with water(again if it’s broke the campground will tell you how to fix it and not fix it themselves) but wait, they didn’t get the lake water pump in before the camping season began(or get other basic items ready like the pool, fish cleaning station, docks in and pretty much every other thing they offer was not and most still it ready) so the well is running dry and a conserve water issue was give so no more wetting down the dust. Issue you on your site? Need something corrected or fixed? No problem if it’s your first year and bring in new money. Not your first year, you can wait weeks, now months to have something fixed or maybe even given a zip tie by management to fix it yourself because maintenance is too busy to fix it even though you lost hundreds of dollars in food because of their electrical issues. If you’re looking for a place to call home for the summer and literally write your name in dust on everything you own, even your own body, feel welcomed with open arms the first 2 weeks and ignored and treated like your an inconvenience by sun retreat after that for years to come, this is the place for you. The best part of this campground is the other campers. They are all amazing! Very kind, generous, trusting and wonderful people. If only the park cared even a fraction of how much the campers do for their sites and each other this would be a beautiful place.
