Heal House

This is the most beautiful house in the centre of Brisbane, close to the river and near to a few lovely shops! Run by the most charmng hosts. The decoration of the house is wonderful! Breakfast is delicious and the hosts give great info about what to visit

Very nice house with a large veranda, where the hosts serve a delicious breakfast every morning. The room was very large with nice furniture und a comfortable bed. The hosts were so friendly when welcoming us and had a lot ofgood advices, what to do. This accommodation was the best in our 6-week Austalian trip.

This is our second time staying at the Heal House and it was just as perfect as the first stay. The house is beautifully decorated and our room had a comfortable bed, large bathroom with fluffy towels, and plenty of storage space. Breakfasts were delicious and our hosts took note of our preferences. I especially appreciated the coffee, tea and snacks in our room. Bryce and Lindsay are fabulous hosts; communication was excellent and they were very responsive to my email messages. Their recommendations for activities and dining helped make our visit to Brisbane very memorable.

It has been a few years since my last visit to Heal House. From the moment I stepped through the door of this elegant house, I remembered just how good it was. And it remains so. Bryce and Lindsay have created a sophisticated, meticulous space that is also warm and welcoming (as they are). Brisbane has a plethora of new places in which to stay, but Heal House is a true haven and highly recommended.

This beautiful B&B went above and beyond our expectations. Bryce and Lindsay have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. From the well appointed bed and bathroom to the card required for public transport, to the extra goodies in the complimentary room fridge. Breakfast was wonderful with a lovely starter of yogurt and fresh fruit to toast, eggs, smoked salmon and avocado or any combo. My husband asked for bacon and they cooked him some. The B&B is well located in New Farm and walkable to downtown Brisbane via a 10 minute walk and use of the public transportation system.

Heal House has been beautifully restored. Attention was paid to every detail and there was a high standard of cleanliness. The owners were very welcoming and the breakfast was good. We had booked the Master Suite for one night and then for a further week at the end of our travels. However, we only stayed a total of 2 nights in the Master Suite. On the third night we were shifted to the Verandah Room (the smallest room) by the owners. I had been diagnosed with Covid. We were asked to leave the Master Suite and were moved to the small room as it was “not connected to the air conditioning”. Apparently, this was so Covid could not be spread to other areas of the house. Of course, this was not correct and their apparent belief that I was a public health risk was not based on any understanding of the current guidelines provided by the Queensland Health Department. Despite explaining that my doctor had said that there was no need to leave our accommodation and, in fact, I could board an airplane and there wouldn’t be any need to advise the airline that I was covid positive. Needless to say, this added unnecessary stress and expense to our travel. In the interest of their business, it would be advisable for the owners of Heal House to become familiar with their legal rights and the current health guidelines. Unfortunately, bad news travels fast. It would be a shame to put the care they have invested in creating this accommodation at risk.

Heal House was a amazing experience. Architecturally very pleasing, rooms have individual charm and are very comfortable. Bryce and his partner are hospitality stars who make you feel so welcome…..without making you feel intruded upon. Breakfast on the terrace was a sheer delight, they even reserved us a parking spot! Highly recommend. Old fashioned service and quality.

This was our second stay at Heal House and it was a long time between visits. We only wish we had returned sooner! Bryce and Lindsay have kept the standard they set when we first stayed. The house has been immaculately maintained and the service is second to none. To have breakfast included on the beautiful verandah is a wonderful bonus. Thank you Bryce and Lindsay. We have already booked a return visit in December.

It’s a small boutique place that is lovely. It’s a converted boarding house in a residential street close to the centre but far enough away to be relaxing. Really clean, lovely staff and a great ambience to base and work from for a couple of days. It’s not a large hotel so you don’t get the pool and the gym. What you get instead is a really friendly atmosphere and a place that’s better than home!
