Hotel Pompadour

This hotel is excellent. We loved the location already and really appreciated the decor, the quality of the furnishings - great mattress, and the cleanliness. We would 100% stay here again.

A wonderful little gem of a hotel within a short walk of the French Quarter. We stayed on the ground floor that had a walkout to a gated patio area and private seating. The room was beautiful with art, unique furnishings and very fluffy towels! Thoughtful touches made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Pompadour early March and it exceeded our expectations! The room was lovely, well taken care of, and the bed was incredibly comfortable! The staff was only a text away at all times. The courtyard was a lovely place to relax after a day of walking around and you could hear the joy and jazz creeping down from Frenchman street. The electronic gate to get into the courtyard and rooms helped us feel extra secure and safe as well, which is huge for two women traveling! This hotel is just steps away from Frenchman, and a small walk from the French quarter. If you want to avoid the noise but also be close to everything- this is a great choice!

Four of us stayed in 2 rooms in early March. The hotel is beautiful with Michalopoulos artwork on every wall in the rooms, creating a playful and interesting atmosphere. The Regalia is a huge first floor suite that opens to the large courtyard, perfect for morning coffee and evening wind down. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Bathroom was spacious with nice towels and a great shower. French press coffee was outstanding. Be sure to ask for more! We never met any of the staff but communication before our visit was excellent: informative, helpful, fun. During our stay we received texts asking if we needed anything and they responded quickly and enthusiastically. The hotel is a short walk to Frenchmen St. in the Marigny for music and food, on the way into the Quarter. Short Uber rides to restaurants in Treme and the Bywater. This was our 34th trip in 30 years and we’ve stayed in many terrific (and not so terrific ) places and Hotel Pompadour became our favorite. We’ll stay there when we return in the fall. One note: there are no TV’s but WiFi was good.

This hotel is charming, warm, welcoming and classically beautiful! Staff are sooo lovely and are hugely positive. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and I felt like i was stayuhg in a Van Gogh painting!! Bathroom lovely and cosy and wonderful location. I am truly sad not be staying longer and it will always stay close to my heart of an incredible experience. NOLA spirit and this Hotel are one!

Great experience. No complaints. We had an issue and management was incredibly understanding, accommodating, and addressed our issue expeditiously; we were so appreciative of their communication and the care that they took. This place is not for everyone so it’s important to set expectations. No elevator. No television. No valet. Don’t expect a staff buzzing around and visible all of the time. It’s more like an Air BnB experience but that doesn’t mean that management and staff are not accessible. That being said, don’t stay here if you are a pansy and want a typical hotel experience and want to be fussed over. And don’t stay here if you have issues with French Quarter and Marigny sights and sounds all around; but if you love it like we do, this place is for you. The location is great as it’s one block away from Frenchman… it’s about a minute walk from the hotel. We stayed during Mardi Gras and it made our stay even more enjoyable and memorable.

This hidden gem in New Orleans is not just a place to stay; it is a destination in itself, filled with soul, character, and breathtaking beauty. From the very first conversation I had with the staff regarding my plans to propose here, they were absolute angels. They went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating at every single step, ensuring that every detail was perfect. Their kindness and professionalism turned a nerve-wracking moment into a seamless, joyous experience. And the facility? It is simply stunning. The hotel is filled with the most incredible, larger-than-life artwork by James Michalopoulos. His paintings and sculptures give the entire space a vibrant, energetic, and romantic atmosphere that you cannot find anywhere else. The unique architecture and artistic flair literally served as the backdrop for our engagement photos, and they turned out like works of art themselves. This beautiful space will forever hold the most special place in our hearts as the setting where we began our next chapter together. To top it all off, the location is absolutely perfect. You are literally steps away from the best of New Orleans! We took a romantic stroll to Jackson Square, explored the vibrant stalls of the French Market, and enjoyed the incredible live music on Frenchmen Street—all without needing a car or rideshare. Thank you to the entire Hotel Pompadour team for making our engagement unforgettable. They even gave us a bottle of champagne, a box of chocolates and a hand written letter to congratulate us. This will always be "our spot," and we cannot wait to return for every anniversary!!

The Hotel Pompadour is colorful, bright and inviting on the outside as it was on the “inside.” Staff were responsive, helpful and provided personalized assistance to make our stay and visit memorable. The room was comfortable with a seetee and pouf that could be used an ottoman or side table. The towels were thick and fluffy and the bathroom had refillable toiletries. We appreciated this “green” touch. The staff provided recommendations of off their favorite bars and restaurants which made us feel like locals for our stay.
