Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Qtr - Astor

The only good thing about the hotel is location. Rest everything sucks big time. There was no Hot Water for the shower in the rooms, had to shower with ice cold water and eventually caught cold. The Carpet smelled so bad and the corridor floors were dirty. Guest Services staff was super rude and cleaning staff kept knocking on the door even if Do no disturb sign was on. No Sound proofing, Super noisy when neighbouring doors are opened / closed. No Late checkout provided, no water in rooms. Far from 4 star hotel, more like a motel.

Great place to stay! Right on Bourbon and Canal Streets! Only downside was trying to drop off luggage and valet the car off of Canal can be tricky.

We booked this trip for a birthday treat. We thought the room was spacious, clean & had a massive TV. We had a bath & shower & a king sized bed. It’s next to Bourbon Street so loud music but earplugs are supplied. Reception staff are extremely helpful & provide recommended restaurants & places that deliver food to the hotel We didn’t use the gym or pool but would highly recommend this hotel for location. 5 mins from the Mississippi River

Quality of the building is not so good (old) and the staff member is not so friendly

To check into the room was a breeze. The customer service rep was excellent at his job and even helped me get information about a tour I had booked. The room itself was shabby or well worn looking and smelled. Maid service was good in that the bed was made everyday, but the bed itself was lumpy. There were rust stains in the bathtub. To step outside to smoke a cigarette, one is bombarded with homeless people asking for money or cigarettes. Seems more could have been done to safeguard guests standing in front of the hotel waiting for something or just getting a breath of fresh air from such harassment. I then found out there was a balcony on the 2nd floor where guests could go to smoke their cigarette. The view from the balcony is excellent as it looks right down on Burbon Street, what a treat. Spending days exploring the city and later going to the balcony in the evenings became a routine for me. That is until one night leaving the balcony heading toward the elevator I ran up upon a woman who was stooped down peeing on the floor by the wall that has a picture of a lady with a piece of paper over her eyes. There were bathrooms on the second floor, so I couldn't understand why she would do that. I guess that speaks to the type of person she is. I was appalled. If that is a representation of the type of people who book rooms at the Astor, then that hotel is not the hotel for me! No, I will never stay there again

It was very good location excellent

This is our usual place we stay when we come and visit New Orleans. But for this specific visit the restrooms were dirty grout black the sink side where you stand was black and dirty you can see from the mirror view. We stayed 3 nights and our trash in the room was taken out once but only what we left at the door and nothing else was taken out not even our beds made. Other than the lobby there isn’t a lounging area to just sit and relax or have a drink if the restaurant is closed. The pool was locked no sign with hours noted. Not really a happy visit like usual. And for the head board why a lion door knocker?

Hotel is in an excellent location. Friendly staff, good experience. The only issue was unavailable due to parades so we had to park our own car and walk about 10 mins. with our luggage.

I left my wireless air pods in the room after check out. As soon as I arrived at the airport, I called and it was gone. Nothing worst than untrustworthy hotel staff who will take your stuff if you forget it in the room.
