I recently stayed at the Lombardy Hotel in New York and found its location to be extremely convenient, with easy access to everything the city has to offer. The doormen were particularly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, adding a welcoming touch to the experience.
However, my enthusiasm was dampened by the disappointing condition of the rooms. The flooring was broken in places, and I even experienced an injury when a piece of wood from the floor poked my foot. Despite promptly notifying reception and being assured that a manager would contact me the next morning to arrange a room change, I never received a call.
The rooms themselves were outdated and in need of serious renovation. Even the maintenance staff admitted they were unable to address the issues, recommending a room change. Unfortunately, the lack of follow-up and communication from hotel management left much to be desired.
Despite these shortcomings, my time at the Lombardy Hotel was salvaged by the fact that I spent minimal time in the room due to exploring the city. However, I would caution future guests to manage their expectations regarding the accommodations.
