Alexander Apartments Powdene House

First and foremost, do not book this place. We arrived at the property around 5pm because we had been at the museum all afternoon. Before getting there, we had picked up ready meals for dinner. We discovered 5 minutes after arrival that the property had no power. It was clear that the power had been shut off by power company or similar as no issues with the fuse box. We were in a what's app chat with property management and let them know and they stated that they couldn't get it fixed so they were going to find us alternative accommodations. Here's where is important to note that there are 6 of us - 2 small children and a pregnant woman in the mix. Plus all of our luggage. We have no car as we arrived by train and we were staying close to city center for sight-seeing. Over the course of the next 1.5 hours they tried to set us up in a studio apar**ent meant for 4 people (refusing to arrange a taxi) and then a larger apar**ent that was a 23 minute DRIVE away, despite us not having a car and having early plans in the city (again, they won't provide taxi). At 6:30pm it became clear that they were not going to have a place for us. They refused to answer phone calls from 2 of our party, finally telling us to cancel our reservation and "sorry, we can't accommodate you." Leaving us stranded. Had I actually canceled, Iwould have lost payment and ability to review - I filed for a refund through *******. The property took 3 DAYS to respond to *******'s messages to refund

Had read some bad reviews before our stay so were a little worried about it beforehand but the location was perfect for what we needed the apar**ent was clean and a good size some things needed a little tlc but as we were leaving someone had arrived to do some maintenance so they are sorting these things out and it certainly didnt spoil our stay comuication was great and ive received my damage deposit a week after stay so overall happy with our stay and would stay again for the location alone

Excellent apar**ent clean good location check in was a nigh**are and communication was very disappointing hard to get in contact with establishment and got checked in late the apar**ent which i had originally booked was not available but got rectified.
