The hotel is located in the ancient city, with a very unique, classical and stylish decoration and appearance. You can walk to the river in a few minutes. Recommended! If you arrive by car, the hotel has a doorman to keep your car keys, which is quite interesting.

Not bad, a little far from the train station, but close to the river, there are many bars. But the hotel is a bit old. There is a good English breakfast shop and ice cream shop nearby.

The location of this hotel is very good. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the bustling shopping mall pedestrian street. The hotel room is exactly the same as the picture. It is very clean and the staff is also responsible for asking you whether to clean the room every day. Every time I come to Newcastle It’s all set in this hotel, and the price is very good.

Grainger Hotel is a nice hotel at all. The room is neat and the counter is very helpful. There is a supermarket nearby so that you can get everything you need. It would be a 30-minute walk from station to hotel and you need to walk up some gradient. The streets may be dirty so don't put bags on the ground.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Hotel du Vin in Newcastle on a recent business trip. The place is a beautifully restored industrial building with fantastic views across the local area. The welcome was warm and professional. Service, food and wine all exceptional. Adrianna & Simone looked after us during the dinner service and they were absolutely fantastic! Great attention to detail, warm, attentive and friendly. We couldn’t fault anything during our stay and would highly recommend the HDV Newcastle!

We went for afternoon tea and we were delighted from the moment we arrived. The staff couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful and the surroundings were beautiful. We were in the conservatory overlooking the garden which is full of tropical trees like tree ferns and eucalyptus. The afternoon tea was one of the best I’ve ever had. As well as the usual finger sandwiches there was a crisp and tasty mini quiche. The scones ( cheese and fruit) were crumbly and melted in the mouth and every one of the petite cakes was delicious. I would definitely return.

GGuest UserStayed in this hotel for a one night business trip stay over. If you’re looking for something with a little character this is a great place to stay . Central Newcastle , right next to the central train station and Metro entrance, a little bit of elegance. A lovely entrance foyer ( decorated with an amazing Christmas tree) with large chandeliers and helpful staff at check in. Finding my room was a bit of an adventure , but part of the charm of a historic building .
My room was clean , quiet , mini fridge , kettle and tea/coffee , tv , surprisingly good bathroom and comfortable bed.
I had a good English breakfast in the morning , and again the staff were lovely.
I thought it was very good value , and I would stay again .

GGuest UserLocated in Asian quarter of town. Accessible by 10 11 38 bus from Grainger street. Very large old building on same site as a. tyre centre and car wash. Very neglected. Carpets and drapes need deep cleaning. Furniture is all dark wood. Has a lift that's broken front door doesn't lock. All rooms have issues. Rooms have key card entry. I got an upgrade but even that room had issues. Hotel has power saving lights. Very nice shower facilities. Smart TV with YouTube and or Netflix. Beds very old. Bedding old Rooms very large. Hotel generally quiet. Outside noise is an issue. Staff on site don't speak much English. Coffee bar downstairs held a function that went on until 2am. Very cheap hotel. Not up to my standard. Suites have mini fridge and microwave and kettle and sink all hidden in cupboards. Cutlery and crockery. Suites and multiple bedded rooms next to each other. Very confused set up

Definately needed a pre visit inspection would have seen big collection of insects on windows

Kken_travelThis is a street with a good location, close to St James' Park, the main stadium of Newcastle Football Team, and Newcastle Business College, where most of the students are Chinese. It is also close to Monument in the city center. Some products in the Chinese supermarket in the neighborhood are not available elsewhere, and the business is very good. Some restaurants require you to take the elevator to go upstairs to eat, which is rare here, which shows that the commercial density here is greater than the surrounding areas. There is also a Chinese medicine clinic. The most conspicuous is the city wall, which is left by a former large lead pigment products factory.
