The Headland Hotel and Spa

A hotel of pure class. From the warm, welcoming reception upon arrival to the excellent customer service of all the staff. This hotel was in a league of its own. Beautiful location on the Fistral beach. Lovely room which overlooked the spa and had ocean views. The lounge downstairs was very comfortable, with plenty of places to sit. We were lucky enough to have a pianist amongst the guests to play some tunes in the evenings, which were beautiful to listen to. The staff in Ren Mor restaurant were first class!! Professional. Friendly. Courteous. And above all, really happy in their job, which is not always the case in customer facing roles, so this was lovely to see. Don’t even get me started on the food at Ren Mor restaurant. There aren’t enough words to describe excellence!! Literally Michelin Star ⭐️ restaurant. Gordan Ramsey would struggle to find fault!! And that’s saying something. We haven’t had food this good…….Ever!! Fine dining at its best. Paradise on a plate!! Beautifully presented. Perfectly cooked. Tastes and flavours like nothing else we’ve ever had. Absolutely superb. And all sourced from local produce which is a big thumbs up!! We were fortunate enough to use the restaurant every night of our stay. When we booked the hotel, they had an offer on of £55 per person per day towards an evening meal. So some of our meals were costing between £2 to £20 for a three course meal. Depending if we had drinks as the voucher didn’t cover that. The deal was phenomenal. We wouldn’t have been eating in there every night without it, because with fine dining, comes with fine pricing. So we were thoroughly spoiled!! The Aqua club facilities were fantastic but unfortunately for us we only got to use the 25 meter pool due to the outdoor pool and jacuzzi always being busy. We found that a lot of guests were placing towels down early in the mornings and also were members there. But the spa in the basement was relaxing and tranquil. Our room was kept lovely by staff. And the bed was huge, but a little uncomfortable for us, so didn’t sleep well. But outside of that could not fault it. This hotel is one that you have to stay in at least once in your lifetime.

This is a gem of a hotel! We were looking for a hotel by the sea with great views and the opportunity to walk by the sea. The views from this beautiful hotel are exquisite and its location on the Costal Path make it exactly what we were looking for looking for. The original hotel was started in the 1890’s and had been lovingly cared for since. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Ours had a small balcony where we could enjoy the changing views of the sea. The dining room has equally stunning views and the food and the service did not disappoint. We were able to walk out onto the Coastal Path and walk literally for miles enjoying the ever changing vistas. Newquay was a short walk away so we were able to explore the main district there as well and pick up a few things we needed. Our stay was enhanced by Ken the concierge who helped us plan a day a bit further away to be able to explore another part of Cornwall. Everything from check in to housekeeping to the dining room was excellent. If you are looking for a Cornwall seaside vacation you can’t go wrong with the Headland.

Very last minute we booked The Headland for our elopement wedding. From the first email Kerry and her team were amazing. They helped us to get everything booked and sorted and just right for our special day. Upon arrival we were made to feel welcome and important. All of the staff knew we were there to get married and we were marked as ‘VIP’, offering us the best table and checking we were comfortable. Beki and the team really made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. We had booked their ‘best’ room and were simply blown away with how it looked and the view of the sea and Fistral bay. On our wedding day, Sarah the concierge came and found me as I waited downstairs for my new bride. She was such a warm person and really made me feel relaxed, on what was most undoubtedly a nerve-racking day. Overall, the experience at The Headland was the best we had ever had. I have stayed in many hotels all around the world and this was definitely the best!
