Hotel Villa Varadero

One of the best hotels in the Hard Rock franchise. Great location. Beautiful beach. Not overwhelming. Just the right size to have fun. Enjoy great food,fun activities and,relaxation. Our butlers Yuri and Gerardo were the best. They catered to all our needs in fact'Gerardo was like Batman when we asked for something he was there. I highly recommend this hotel and resort. It makes you feel like you are rich.

Buyer beware if your looking for a quiet peaceful vacation this place is not it. The view of the ocean and beach was nice. However the noise from the bar area went on each night till 11pm. The beach area also allows radios and combined with bar music anything but relaxing. Attention needed to beach chairs and tables which were in poor condition soiled from the black birds that constantly bombard you for food. Majority of vacationers Hispanic with ten per cent American/Canadian. Biggest disappointment was not having an adult swimming pool. Currently undergoing major renovation so more noise from construction. It was also narrow wrapped round the base of the building. The secondary roof top pool in the building across the street was also narrow and crowded. Not conducive to swimming laps. We did not opt for full inclusive package just breakfast which was mediocre. Awful coffee served each day. Had to go down the street to Organics for a good cup.

I love Nuevo Vallarta but not this resort. The room was filthy (washed with dirty water, dead bug on wall, mystery substance in corner of floor that was not disturbed for a week); the safe unusable (at about 7 foot on top shelf of the closet--you would need a ladder to get to it); breakfast barely edible (only Americans had breakfast included, all others had all meals and drinks) ; fridge iced up; beds uncomfortable (the old style where they were concrete boxes covered with a thin mattress); bathroom door would not close; air conditioner was broken; kitchen dinnerware was not availabe (we had one saucepan two cups... etc); drinking water was outside the door (I thought all of Vallarta had potable water) .....and, I could go on. But, the beach was beautiful.

We stayed at Villa Varadero 25 years ago and our room looked exactly the same today as then. Beds were uncomfortable, patio doors didn't close and had an inch gap at the top which maintenance tried to fix and did improve. Otherwise you heard the waves hitting the shore all night. Food options were very limited. Staff weren't even sure which restaurants would be open at their newer building across the street. One restaurant is Italian and the other Mexican and most nights the main floor one was open with both cuisines available. Pasta was dry and needed more sauce, pizza was soft and soggy. Once the restaurants closed for breakfast it was the snack bar that was open from 12-5. It offered hot dogs, very think patty burgers, soggy French fries, tortilla chips with cheese sauce. There would be some fruit, usually papaya and something else but any attempt to eat healthy was difficult at best. The dinner on the beach was the highlight of the culinary offerings at the resort. I would recommend that and it was included as we stayed more then three nights. We did the bike tour and the bikes have had no maintenance done to them. We were given bikes with flat tires, no functional brakes, seats that couldn't be adjusted and chains that have never been greased. All fixed gears and incredibly tough to peddle. The location is ideal and steps from the ocean. Staff are all friendly as one would expect but outside of that very few positives about this stay.

I am not sure if RCI knows exactly where they are sending their customers! This was the most horrible experience that I have ever been to. I spent only one night and went to a Dreams Resort near by where all the accommodations were amazing and what I am use to!

Villa Varadero is located on a beautiful beach in Nuevo Vallarta. It is near Paradise Village but you need a water taxi to get to it from Paradise village. Our room in tower 4 was large and we slept well. Tower 4 is the newest building and does not have a view of the ocean. We made the big mistake of taking the all inclusive option. The breakfast which was included without taking all inclusive was fine. You could have an omelet or pancakes made fresh. The rest of the food was horrible! My husband even thought it was bad and he isn’t fussy. The drinks were also awful. I poured most of them down the drain!

OK, the one bedroom unit with living room and kitchen with kitchen table and chairs: Old. cushions on cement slabs are the couches although laying on them with the slider open with breezes was nice. Can't drink the water, they provide a pitcher to get water from a Empura bottled water dispenser in hallway. tiled shower old and some tile moldy, bathroom sink old and stained, microwave only stayed on 30 seconds at a time, hard plastic beach long chairs that only became possible to use if we took the chair pads off the kitchen chairs to attach to lawn chairs, they do have tiki huts for shade. But the beach and location is great! We didn't use pool. Most of the guests here are Mexican.

Our room was old and cleaning could have been better but the view was great. The staff fantastic food could be a little better where selection is concerned. We did have a good time. I do not think music in the dining room in the mourning should be played ,and it was loud.
